Jem's Britishisms and the way he would say amazing (a sampling of which is found below) will be greatly missed -- you have no idea -- as a moment of levity the next time we're banging out stories at 2AM during next year's E3. We've asked Joystiq staffers to say the first word they think of when discussing Jem and here are the results: excitement, adventure, glamour, glitter, fashion and fame. He was truly, truly outrageous. Best of luck in the future, buddy. No one else is the same. What's everyone playing this weekend?

- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Probably heading to Point Lookout and finally checking that out. I also have Little King's Story for the Wii, which is charming as all get out, but I still think I haven't hit the "real" game yet.
- Andrew Yoon: I will somehow play Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 co-op... by myself.
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert):In Jem's honor, I'm taking up Cloud's sword in Dissidia Final Fantasy, delving into Ico (about eight years late), and calling all desserts pudding ... except for pudding, which is obviously custard.
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): (Too distraught)
- David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): Not much gaming for me, I'm afraid, as I'll actually be traveling to England to say goodbye to Jem. I'll be taking something called a Tardis ...
- Dustin Burg (@SuperDunner): Lately, Gears of War 2 seems to be permanently glued into my disc drive, so I'll most likely be playing that. In honor of Jem, I'll be snacking on Jaffa Cakes the entire time I'm sawing apart Locusts in wave after wave of Horde.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): I'll be finally making the big move to Cincinnati, so any gaming I may participate in will be fairly limited. Overlord 2, Fat Princess and Final Fantasy VII, when I'm not too busy moving (or mourning the loss of Jembles).
- James Ransom-Wiley: (Finding sadness)
- Jem Alexander (@Yembles): I've got a week off before I start my new job, so when I'm not reminiscing about the good times and trying to sneak back into the staff chat room, I'll be working through my massive backlog. I'm already part way through Ico -- which is great but not as good as Shadow of the Colossus, so far -- and there are plenty more games to go, like Persona 3 and 4, Kingdom Hearts 1, 2 and Re: Chain of Memories ... then it's on to the PS3 games. Writing for Joystiq alongside this amazing crew has been a real pleasure. I'll miss you guys. That includes you, commenters!
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): (Wow, another one crying?)
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): I'm going to be playing the sad Incredible Hulk walking away music as Jem sticks out a solitary thumb and hitchhikes across the ocean and back to ... where do British people come from again?
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): I'm going to finally try out Fat Princess, in Jem's honor, and every time I get sad I'll play this so he won't be entirely gone. Then I'll quickly cut up some onions to hide the tears.
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll be playing the one game that will always remind me of the time I spent working with our dear, departed Jem: Manhunt 2.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin): It's going to be an all-PS3, all-British weekend for me in honor of the truly outrageous gem, er, Jem. LittleBigPlanet, WipEout HD, Heavenly Sword (again) and belting out the saddest songs I can find in SingStar. When the drive's not occupied by games, I'll be marathoning The Mighty Boosh. Bye, mate!
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): I'll be gorging myself on British food (treacle, blood pudding, Amy Winehouse) in memory of Jem. If I can bring myself to play any games, it'll be some Monkey Island and Street Fighter IV.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): Playing through Shadow Complex again ... super sad to see my good friend Jem go, but excited for him at the same time! Miss ya!
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): (Creating a Jem AI, in case we ever need one again.)
