Graphics look nice for the Wii. Graphics style is nice, too, looks like they took the chunky WoW look.

However, the control looks iffy. I don't know what you're controlling under the helicopter (with the copter out of frame, and the announcer saying "we drag you" I doubt you're flying it, just controlling the Mii), and the racing seems, well, slow. Too slow. The bus just looks frustrating, as did the pinball off the rooftops.

Could have been fun, could have been very frustrating, but the graphics style look like they'd have moved quite a few units alone.

Although it seems cruel to call out Hasselhoff and Mr. T as "washed up has-beens," haha.

Wow after watching that I can understand why EA shut them down. Man I remember when Pandemic was supposed to be the next big studio back in the ps2 days with the first Mercenaries and Destroy All Humans game.

Oh well at least Bioware is still awesome, so EA's investment is still good.

Now thats what i call quick to judge, this games looks alright, the controls look terrible but a little work and this could have been a decent sandbox game, and look at it's competition.

Eh, it looked fairly promising. The cartoon look makes a good fit for the Wii. Slap the word 'party' in the name and they coulda moved a good number of units.

Eh, so do 95% of the throw-away Wii releases put out, it probably would've fit right into the lineup. It'd be nice if the console had more Mario Galaxies and Zack & Wikis, but the reality of the situation is that I only have to dust off the Wii every four to six months to catch the decent releases. That's not even a "serious gamer vs casual gamer" rant, there's just an awful lot of shit released, be it hardcore or casual.

I think some of the reputation ideas were pretty cool. I wouldn't mind my face on a bunch of billboards when my friend boots up Burnout: PC. Kinda throws leaderboards into a new direction IMO.

The concept intresting but two faults sprout from it:

1. It looked a lot like most of the shovelware that the Wii has been plagued by since day 1.

2. Pandemic. AKA DAH: Big Willy Unleashed.

You all are just hating. While it certainly had a cartoon styling, I thought the game looked pretty cool, all things considered. Do you expect GTA IV level of detail on the Wii? If so, you picked up the wrong damn box.

I liked the reputation stuff especially. As mentioned above, the thought of my buddy signing in to see that I've taken over half his city and fans is awesome.

Plus, cartoon Mr. T FTW.

I just thought the racing looked really slow. It was a cute concept but it didn't have any soul or depth or is that also a hardware limitation?

It reminded me a lot of Mario Kart. Plus, the game was probably still heavily in development. I don't think the final game would have been a full-fledged racing game, probably just one of many mini games. It sounds like a combination of open world sandbox games and mini game compilation, with a unique 'leaderboard' system as it were. I'm sure if the game had been finished the game could have been rather interesting. Guess we'll never know.

Looks like a nice fit for Wii...graphic-wise and gameplay-wise. It's definitely not for the PS3 and Xbox 360 crowd.

Most of you are missing the point. A Wii game that allows you to do some of the more outrageous GTA stuff that's kid friendly would probably be a better seller then most of the crap put out on any of the systems. I know most (if not all) of you guys commenting don't have kids, but as the game market expands and game fans continue to sku older (as of E3 Sony said the average PS3 fan is 30) it's not just about crap games for kids or great games for adults. This isn't all "grandma buys the cute box art", adults know the difference between a good game and junk, and they're getting just as picky about what they drop their money on for the kids as they do for themselves. I know most of my friends don't buy the same type stuff or at least as much of it as they used too because they can't play it with thier kids in the house. GTA, RE5, Dead Space, most of the stuff that comes out isn't kids friendly; and while I'm not suggesting it should be, it would be nice to have some fun games to play with my daughters or at least not have to wait until after they go to bed before I can turn them on. For an industry that has gotten this big but is struggling to take the next step, there are other elements in the decision making process then just graphics.

Yeah.... many times i see parents buying whatever game for their kids. Sometimes i feel like asking them if they need some help in making a selection...

then i realize i don't really care if their kids have to suffer through a 9.99 budget title that was picked up in a pharmacy bin.

Exactly. I agree with you 100%. This game actually had potential. I would have at least rented it. Not to mention this wasn't even the final build. You're completely right about games parents can play with kids. And Rocks, I've actually been in a store like Best Buy or Sam's Club before and been asked by parents what type of games would be right for their kids. It gives me a little bit of satisfaction to know that somewhere, a 10 year old guy got Super Smash Bros. Brawl instead of Dancing with the Stars

It's also probably just a prototype, or early build. I'm guessing they put this together to sell the idea to the higher-ups.

What i do know is that i have more than enough on my plate in the near future, so it doesn't really matter

that's not fair. THis game was obviously not finished. Most games look like crap until they do detailed graphics work and textures. They're not gonna polish a game until its' confirmed released. THis obviously wasn't yet.

Sharpen up the graphics a little bit, hell, just give me a decent draw distance that doesn't make me barf, allow for some sort of city free-roaming ala GTA, implement more miis, put more content in the game and less minigames and we're golden. It'd sell very decently for the wii market.

Good things about this game...
The high score idea. It's good, but for it to work your friends need to have the game (and a Wii) too.
Importing Miis AND upgrading their appearance. Anybody else tired of stick figure Miis?

The best thing about this game...
It will never be released.

@Mr. Khan.
I'd totally buy a Total Drama Island/Action game.

The concept of this game is simple but great. For the Wii it would have been a great idea. The only problems I see with it, draw distance with massive pop ins, after a while it becomes annoying.. and the biggest problem of all is the updating the other friends wii system to populate their world with your popularity. Someone I don't see the online or saving space capable of handling such a feat. Maybe if this gets adopted to the 360 or ps3 it has hope, but I see people become quickly bored with it.

Oy vey. I guess summer vacation sort of takes the book-learnin' out of people.

TO REITERATE: The vast majority of games for the Wii are shovelware shit, and the only reason to fire the damn thing up is when a title like Mario Galaxy or Zack & Wiki comes out, which is fairly rare. "The Next Big Thing", from the looks of the video, would've fit in fine with the Wii's shovelware lineup, and therefore one could argue that it really doesn't matter whether it's canned or shipped.

Annnnd to further avoid any confusion: There are other decent Wii titles, those are just the two I used as examples.
