No, silly goose, PlayStation Pulse is absolutely not the Sony version of the Wii Vitality Sensor, though we understand how the name could lead you to believe otherwise. It is, in fact, a once monthly roundup of all things PlayStation Network. On the July 30 episode, after a thrilling commercial break for Fast & Furious, the show's host reveals the top 10 PSN games for the month of July, with Battlefield 1943 taking top honors.
Notably missing from the list is Shatter, possibly due to it's July 23 release date. Worse? 60% of the list is made up of ports, which makes us feel kind of lonely inside.

It's the lack of a significant other that makes you so lonely. I'm sorry.

I bought Fat Princess, other than having to wait like 3-5 minutes to get into a game it works fine.

If only that were the case. More things than that are broken. My short list reads something like this:
1. When a host leaves, the game tries to migrate to a new host, but fails most of the time
2. Most hosts can't be connected to, so you sit at the finding game screen, then the connecting to host screen, before finally being dumped to the main screen (the game needs a server list...badly)
3. You'll often play the same game twice, because in some of the most blatant stupidity I've ever seen, the game offers you a list of three maps to choose from after every round. One of those maps is the map you've just played, so really you only get a choice of 2 new maps. Unfortunately, people don't vote, so it's inevitable that one person will vote on replaying the same map, (or will vote on a map without realizing it's the same map they've just played).
It's so much fun and I really hope they work out the bugs, but I don't know if I can spend ten minutes trying to find a new match every time the host leaves and it fails to migrate to a new one.

It's a great formula other companies should follow.
1. Familiar IP to consumers.
2. Five fucking dollars.
It was the first game i bought on from the store when i got PS3. I wasn't down with experimenting with the store on a game that i had no idea whether it was garbage or not, so i went with MK2. Even Wolfenstein's up there pretty high, and that game has aged terribly.

I could have sworn it was bi-weekly...meaning sometimes it can be 3 times a month....
at anyrate My guess as to WHY MK2 is damn near ALWAYS up there is because of all the new people buying a PS3 buying that as their first PSN game....its a Familiar Title and its just $5...cant beat that

I must admit I should probably shop th PSN much more. I'm a sucker for these great niche titles; I'm just so familiar w/Live and its' offerings. Definitlely want to try the Pixeljunk series and Shatter sounds good.
Hope the PSN gets 'Splosion Man at some point. Pure platforming bliss.

If you like platforming... You should definitely try PixelJunk Eden. It's my favourite PSN title but unfortunately many people don't seem to like it. It has a decent learning curve (basically understanding how high and how far you can jump) , but playing co-op is really great and rewarding.
Try the demo, I -had- to buy the game after playing it.

Bomberman Ultra gets kind of dull after a while. I only play it to kill 5 mins waiting for downloads of other PSN games now >_

Not so at all. I am a huge bomberman fan and bought the version on XBLA and found it terrible. They mucked with the timings for detonate and kick power ups so bad they are near worthless.
I haven't tried the PSN one but I expect it is just as humped in that regard.

I'm sorry but the PSN hardly has any really good ORIGINAL NEW games unlike the other online stores that I won't mention cuz it just pisses me off. Sony said we'd have tons of games to play bc of their extensive library to pull from we have yet to see them. Only 50 PS1 titles and 4 of the are just sequels to a crappy game to begin with. crappy psp titles as well and a 8 shooters basically the same game with a different name same goes for the 4 tower defense games and 5 fighting games which makes up the best games we got on the psn. Simply put the PSN has dick to choose from. do I want a shooter or a shooter? I could list them but it would take to long and it's a waste of time. Because Sony doesn't listen to it's consumers. We do however have plenty of game trailers instead so we can watch games instead of playing them. This past game informer mentions all the games live was getting 1 of their games being one of the top games to play all year even better than the 1st party exclusives (Shadow Complex). And then they mention only 1 count them 1 game that PSN gets. Shatter pong updated. Who cares if it was rated well not everyone likes those type of games. PSN also has 1 count it 1 rpg Final Fantasy 7. The rest are SHITTY games. I'm about fed up with Sony. I also heard a rumor that Sony is looking in to charging us to play games like Xbox live does in multiplayer. Games like COD MW 2. Also just so everyone knows Xbox owners again get to celebrate because they also get the exclusive DLC for CODMW2. As usual Sony thinks their consumers who if you bought the PS3 when it came out 600.00 aren't worth getting us DLC as usual. So chew on that. How does that taste? I only have a PS3 and the more and more I read about stuff like this it makes me angry.
