We'll be honest -- the upcoming re-imagining of A Boy and His Blob for Nintendo Wii makes our hearts go aflutter. The newest screens, grabbed by Aussie-Nintendo, do little more than entice us while we patiently wait for the game's release date. When is that again? Oh, right, we have no idea.
We do, however, have two videos from back in March to compare with today's screens, which we're pleased to say look just as good as the videos did back then. And just look at that adorable picture with the game's main character taking a snooze! Sorry, sorry, we'll be over here being total creeps. You enjoy the new screens below.

So, they are still working on it and the graphics look exactly the same.
So either this game is going to be huge, or they are just slow.

When I first saw screen shots of this I immediately thought it looked like Braid. Visually, stylistically, something about the feel of this scenes. Maybe it's just me.

Wow, when I got this game at the age of 9 for the NES everyone made fun of me for playing it due to the unfortunate title, I didn't understand why it was funny (until after I beat the game and a year or two passed)..
I never ever thought that game would've been popular enough to warrant a sequel. I mean, a game about feeding a jizz coloured blob jellybeans in order to shapeshift (eg; cinnamon = blowtorch).... but I guess if that's the kinda thing wii owners are into.
Thanks for the flashback to the late 80's joystiq!

I don't know if you're ragging the game in your comment or not...

Yeah, we get it. This is gorgeous looking game, the Fairuza Bulk of games even, but we need to see more video footage. From what little we've seen so far, the animations are as stiff as Luc Bernard's Eternity's Child and it appears to be as shallow as a HAL platfomer. I want to believe, I really do, but my innate cynisim is just well too strong at present.

Nobody who's owned a Vanillaware game really believed in Muramasa. Odin Sphere was vapid beauty.
Speaking of 2D vapid beauty, you enjoying your broken KOF12?

That was a slip of the tongue, Khan. I clearly meant Sonic Team.

I liked Vanillaware's work better BEFORE they sold out. You know, back when it was about the art and not the money

It's taking a long time because Artists are crafting a beautiful, layered and non-repetative world.
If the graphics looked like those from a Flash game to some of you, I ask what is wrong with that? There are some Flash games that are absolutely gorgeous! Flash being an accessible method of releasing games, there are some poor examples--it's similar to the situation on iPhone and iPod Touch. It's all about who utilizes the method and how.

Hey there,
Thanks for agreeing with me! And I have to admit, I haven't seen too many quality 3D games done in Flash.
Peace,
manaman

I'll be very disappointed if this game isn't as incredibly confusing, random, and unbeatable as the nes version was.
