Fat Princess players rejoice! Titan Studios announced this weekend that it's hard at work on a patch that will fix the multitude of online multiplayer issues that folks have been dealing with. Notably, FPers have been encountering unsightly lag, causing many a broken heart (and more importantly, lost matches).
Titan says that it's well aware of the problems -- thanks in no small part to an active, vocal community -- and that it's "working with Sony now to get the patch into the Sony testing process as soon as possible." The company hasn't released a more specific window for the patch's arrival on PlayStation Network, but we've asked Sony for comment and will update this post when we hear back.
Update: Sony has told us that while there isn't a more solid release window set for the patch, we will know as soon as it has one. Sorry, folks!
[Thanks, Ian!]

I bought this game right away and I love it. However, all these problems the game has were reported during the beta. The same problems from the beta continued in the release. Glad to see they are finally working on it.

@Bootes: Thanks. It sounds like a really interesting game.

Seriously, I'd far rather developers delay a release longer instead of releasing a buggy version and patching it later. Sadly, this is yet another case of making managers and stockholders happy (get the game released as soon as possible!) rather than making the paying customer happy.
But, the more developers do this, the harder it'll be to sell a game at launch...

They push this game back more and more and it still launches with so many problems. Ranger without the upgrade still reigns supreme.
Red Team is winning the match you say? ..."Host has left the game", now we get to start all over instead of leadership going to someone else.
Killed the host in a 1v1 x100 because he's a raging newb? You've been banned!
I waited this long for this shit?

Am I the only one who think that 16 players for each team it's a bit much?
I mean, there's way too many people and that make a single hand take forever to finish because it's hard to rescue the princess. Most of my games ended with the countdown because no team could rescued the princess.
But yeah, the game it's great and can't wait for this patch. :)

I'm glad I didn't even try to go online yet...still messing around with the SP.
That's sad though, that on launch, the online component didn't work (in complete contrast to BF:1943 on the PSN which worked like a charm)

Hmm strange, I did have a slight problem where I thought I was getting into a match, but it just booted me or something today. But ..I've sunk 14 hours into it (mostly online) and haven't had much of a problem, just mostly been playing with friends on my friends list but I did play a few random online games with a bunch of ppl I didn't know. I hope everyone gets to enjoy the game soon with this patch!

I don't have any issues playing online. My only issue is the fact that I can't switch targets (right analog stick) while attacking. (square/other face button)
That, in my opinion, limits the ranged classes. Not to mention it makes Gladiate mode a real pain, if you ask me...

I had some trouble on the beta trying to connect to a game and I still have the trouble in the full game. It's still a blast though.

I just played for about 4 hours. Get into a game first try, played for over 2 hours, then quit, fiddled with my character some and tried to join a new game, failed first time, worked 2nd time and then I played almost 2 more hours with no problems.
It was so bad Thursday that I was really worried. It seems to work quite well now.

This is why I wait to buy games anymore. I don't ever want to deal with a SOCOM-like debacle ever again. Patience is a virtue.

while i like the game.. if i had realized before hand that it was so online oriented and not so much fun locally.. (meaning multiplayer local which i think most of the planet had figured this would be as well as online)
I wouldn't have bothered buying it. :(
refund?

i got first thing and didn't even try to play because i was feeling ill. i did however play with the options and play the credits for about an hour. i got through the story mode once and tried a few times to play online before going back to the credits or messing around to unlock stuff. i still love the humor of the game.

I still have not been able to connect to a single online game. And let me tell you how annoying it is to go back to the title screen instead of the hopper after a failed connection: SO INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. F'N A COTTON!
Even if I try to host a game, no one ever shows up. It gets old playing against the bots, especially because they are the dumbest things on the planet...they don't even do anything when you ask for help! Argh!
And no, I don't have ANY problems with online gaming with ANY other game, whether it's on PS3 or XBox 360. If I have to change my network settings because someone didn't program their game correctly, I'm going to be pretty pissed (because it's annoying having to mess with that s*** all the time).
This game looks like so much fun...I just wish I could play it the way it was intended!

tried all weekend to get in a match online. Even When i'd see friends playing and try and join it would just kick me back to the main menu. I got into maybe 2 games since last Thursday.

I know its cheaper to develop online games to use player hosted matches, but these games more often than not have major issues. Just look at Gears 2 and now FP. Gamers want DEDICATED SERVERS!!!!

Just as a reminder to everyone who is or who plans on complaining about the issues of Fat Princess. First of all the single player experience works fine. Now when dealing with online multiplayer expect to have problems with the game early on after it's release. Unfortunately that's one of many flaws of the internet, and unfortunately that's what happens when people buy into a game too early.
Besides do we remember of a little 'ol Xbox Live Arcade game called Castle Crashers? Yeah, that game was broken many weeks of it's release and people still loved it. So let's calm down a bit and see what happens after the patch.
