I just want to get a damn feel for the game. All the previews look terrific, but I've been burned countless times before.
I really, really hope this lives up to expectations. The last decent Batman game was Batman Vengeance for the PS2...that was like a 8 years ago!

A demo coming out before the game it's for in this day and age, and without the end user being charged for it like a pre-order bonus? And for the PC? Lunacy I tell you! It'll never work!

I no longer have time for demos with the backlog I have (whilst always feeding my Halo 3 addiction from time to time), but I have faith that this one won't disappoint. And if it does, I'm sure I'll read about it in the comments here on Joystiq.

Of course there's room for personal preference, but I find the 'Stiquers right as often as professional critics. I too have had my disappointments (I don't really like Left 4 Dead very much), but for the most part, a good estimate, especially when people defend/argue specific points.

you mean combat demo right? Where your stuck in one room and fighting 3-4 guys? Not saying the games going to be great or anything, i have no idea. But judging it off that demo is like judging a final fantasy game in the first 5 minutes.

That isn't a good comparison, final fantasy games are mostly about the story. This seems like it is focusing on the combat overall.

almost everything i've seen on this game is about sneaking around, using detective skills, and taking out enemies quietly while getting from point a to point b. that demo is straight up brawling. From what i've seen anyway, brawling looks like what you do when you've failed to sneak around effectively. Like when you get into a gun fight in metal gear.

Yes, I played that demo, it's crap. How do they expect to sell the game on one room with 3 thugs who can't die? (as far as I could tell anyways). I mean, the whole thing is punching these guys over and over.
I'm looking forward to this new demo though - it sounds like it will actually have *gameplay* in it unlike the kiosk demo.

...why is this guy downvoted? The demo I played in Target >does< suck. No, I'm not saying the game's rubbish because of that demo but I hope this upcoming demo is different and gives us the real taste of this game.

There's been a demo available in the Manhattan Toys R Us PS3 kiosk for months. I'd already played it ever since Infamous came out. The fighting controls were responsive and the graphics are detailed though some of the enemies do weird ragdoll things when they get knocked out. Demo is pretty repetitive too with the joker pitting you against like 3 or 4 waves of inmates that dont do anything terribly interesting, there's a really nice countering system that makes all the fighting feel realistic and makes it feel almost effortless until one of them whacks you with a pipe.
