Yay, a demo!! And notice how they're releasing it BEFORE it's out. Why can't some people get that right? Seems pretty simple.. yet, not so much.
Also glad it's coming out for the PC also, get to see how well I run it.

grr, sorry didn't mean to reply. I was at first just going to say that's just the challenge map demo, but forgot to undo it, anyways... sitting in a room with joker sending guys at you doesn't sound like a lot of fun. The silent knight challenge sounds more interesting, taking a bunch of guys down quietly sounds way more fun for a challenge mode.

Dammit, NO! This is not the way to do a demo! It sure does sound like this is going to be opening cutscene - walk around - end cinematic fulla baddies - done, which is all wrong. This is not supposed to be a teaser trailer, it's supposed to let me get a feel for gameplay---how it controls, how it looks in motion, how it m.f.in' PLAYS! If this is the kiosk demo, that'll be cool---that one seemed to have some actual gameplay. But if it's just what's described above, I will be saaaaad.

I might not buy this game in the end but it got my respect for having a DEMO out before release. Take note industry heads, this is how it should be done. After the fact DEMOING is LAME.

I just played the demo earlier today at Gamestop, and my first impression is that I wasn't impressed. I was really excited about this game, and intended to reserve it today, but after playing the demo, I'm going to wait.
Here's what I didn't like:
At least in the fighting portion of the game (I didn't get to try the stealth part), all you do is button mash. There is some timing involved, but all you do is push square repeatedly, and batman attacks in whatever way suits the situation. Then, if a bad guy behind you is about to attack, you'll see a little lightning bolt over him and if you quickly press triangle, you'll suddenly counter his attack. So, there's the timing: press square repeatedly until someone is about to attack you, and then press triangle. Then, resume pressing square repeatedly. Oh yes, you can also press circle for a cape sweep.
The fight animation is cool--the game looks great, but honestly, if I have so little control over what moves batman does, it feels like I'm playing a simplified version of Dynasty Warriors or something. Boring, and repetitious. Maybe the stealth part is super cool, but fighting is a good portion, so I'm probably going to pass.

I have just played the demo and I have to say i'm not that impressed. It was a bit pants but thats my opinion and I may be completely wrong. I recently bought Prototype and I think that is way better.
