Call of Juarez DLC saddles up on August 6
Mosey along for more screens, cowpoke
Looking to extend Thomas and Ray's adventure in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood? Tough luck, because the "Old West Map Pack" DLC from Ubisoft is for those banditos who enjoy gunning down their fellow man. The DLC adds four new multiplayer maps, each with some historical significance. If you ever wanted to see where General Custer made his last stand at Little Big Horn in the comfort of your own living room, perhaps covered in a light dusting of Cheetos, then you'll want to keep an eye out later this week. The new maps will set you back 800
($9.99).

Every screen of this game makes it look very bland and uninteresting.
Neuromancer @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:46PM
It's a good game despite the screenshots being pretty average. Worth a rent anyway, you can beat it in a day.
kentuckyfried @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:48PM
Whatever. Prototype is ugly as sh1t compared to this game...
Doug @ Aug 4th 2009 4:43AM
Couldn't be further from the truth. IN all honesty, this is one of the more original and fun FPS I've played in quite a while.
It's sad... if a game isn't called "Call of Duty" or "Halo" it gets ignored. I know this isn't an "A" list release, but it's really a good game.
Dantheman @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:40PM
multiplayer maps for a multiplayer nobody plays? And there 10 bucks.... maybe for Call of Duty maps but not for some generic shooter, that nobody plays.
EgoCheck616 @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:42PM
On the PSN it's very easy to get into a full match almost instantly. At least, that's been my experience. Have been playing it since launch.
Scotty P @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:53PM
Dude, grow up. How is this generic? It is anything but. Instead of being set in WW2, or fighting aliens in space it is set in the old West.
EgoCheck616 @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:41PM
Every comment you post makes you look very bland and uninteresting.

Still clinging to the old cheetos stereotype....
I prefer to cover my living room with Cheese-Its.

$10 is a rather steep price for a game that came out only a few weeks ago. They sort of dug their own grave by releasing the game so soon to the launch of Modern Warfare 2, because no matter how much DLC they dish out it may just end up being pushed aside. Regardless of the quality of the game or it's DLC.
I liked the game a lot and enjoyed the multiplayer, but I can't justify $10 for this when the Killzone 2 DLC just came out.
WREturns[FBI Sweatshop Investigation Task Force] @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:08PM
Modern Warfare 2 is still 4 months away. Is no one supposed to release any games for the next 8 months or something?
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:11PM
Think about all the games that have been delayed this Fall before you ask that question.
WREturns[FBI Sweatshop Investigation Task Force] @ Aug 4th 2009 8:13AM
I'm thinking about it and I still think that it sucks. I'm sure as shit buying more than one game in the next 8 months.
freaparn @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:51PM
Maybe it's just forum griping, but it's kind of obnoxious how a game comes out and then a month later they're trying to sell you some DLC. Reel in the marketing weasels a little, develop something that you might not have had ready *before* the retail date, and start peddling it 3-4 months later. They need to have a little got-damn dignity and pace themselves so it doesn't seem like they're holding content back for the sole purpose of milking another $10 out of peoples' wallets.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:54PM
Resident Evil 5. Nuff said.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:56PM
Would rather pay for online coop...
Random G (Wiizer Sweatshop Chief Bitchslapper) @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:07PM
Are you serious? There isn't co-op in this game?
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:11PM
Sadly, no. It's the one key feature that prevents this game from being great.
kentuckyfried @ Aug 3rd 2009 9:57PM
They have to patch the game first before any DLC comes out. Good lord...nothing's worse than being frozen in place b/c of lag and then watching the other players casually walk up to shoot you in the face.
Bubbameister33 @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:02PM
Is the single player fun?
freaparn @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:29PM
Eh, it's pretty heavily scripted, so there's no real replay value or innovation allowed. The whole "player certain levels as the brother of your choosing" feature is cosmetic at best. You either do what the devs had in mind, or you die, and the game will break previously established rules to enforce this, such as shooting you through solid objects if you refuse to move forward in certain sequences, or endlessly spawning enemies if you try to take them out from range instead of moving in close. Unless that's what the devs *did* have in mind, so it's sort of a trial and error/guessing game depending on where the story's going.
It's a rental at best.
Bubbameister33 (The Creepy Guy at Wiizer Sweatshop) @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:30PM
Thanks.
Neuromancer @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:48PM
Like I said above it's a good game and worth a rent. You can beat it in 5 hours but they're a pretty fun five hours.
Charlie_Six @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:27PM
One of my fav shooters of all time. Not much replay value though, so a rental may be good enough.
kentuckyfried @ Aug 3rd 2009 11:52PM
The SP is fun. Like every other game on the market, it's linear. Replay value for SP is from playing as one or the other brother, plus there's trophies if that's your sort of thing, plus finding all the secrets. It has slightly more replay than bioshock (sans the not-so-important moral choices leading to separate crappy endings).
There's tons of replay value in the online presuming you have no lag (I've not played it online much since lag is abysmal on my end). there's supposed to be a patch for it but so far it has not been released.
inkerjay @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:08PM
I know a lot of you are upset about dlc coming out to fast and I just wanna say, ..relax. let it come out. Buy it if you want it or wait your made up three month period and those maps will be there waiting for you. Everybody wins. As for this game's dlc it's gonna be cool because when this game isn't lagging it's fun. More places to have fun is always a good thing. Also I want a real FUCKING party system!!!
MarkT @ Aug 3rd 2009 10:10PM
$10 for four maps for a mp that has had simply appalling connectivity issues.
Way to satisfy your customers Ubi.

Ubi has sunk very low with this one.

The online is fun but maps cost too much!!!
paperless @ Aug 4th 2009 10:51AM
I hate it how expensive maps are. For some games it get's really crazy.
On CoD: WaW there are going to be 3 Map packs for 10 dollars (800 points) each. Wheres the common sense of the people who price it? That's an extra $30 to play online without being harassed by a screen prompting you to buy them (yes, you cant choose which map to play, instead you join a room with a random map and hope it's not a map you dont have, if you dont have that map a damn pain in the ass notification pops out prompting you to buy the maps).
Anyway, it's time they lower the prices for maps for all games.
neofolklore @ Aug 4th 2009 4:26PM
but WaW sucks, so ......... your priorities should be fixed now
