People sure do love their pretend exercise. Keeps the kids indoors where it's nice and safe.

Well you can talk all day about how kids are still playing video games inside and not getting enough exercise, but EA Sports Active is at least a step forward. As long as you're getting your heartrate up, then it can basically be considered exercise. Plus it introduces exercise into their daily habit. It makes it much easier for kids to progress into a healthy lifestyle if it's incorporated into their daily life

I propose a strict regimen of scaring the crap out of your kids at least 5 times a day. Since it gets the heartrate up, it MUST be exercise and, therefore, good for them.

@sting
Why don't we save everyone $50 and tell them to masturbate instead. That gets the heart going, so it's exercise.

yeah, physically impossible to get any exercise indoors. Gyms, martial arts, pssssssh.

Active (and even Wii Fit) is definitely a work out, and quite probably better than most workout DVDs. Is there more strenuous activity out there? Sure. But the same could be said of many exercises; that doesn't make them ineffective.

I'm totally going to sound like a commercial here. Wii fit was kind of a joke when it came to actual exercise, but EA Sports Active is freakin awesome. I felt like I was going to die after my first workout, and 2 months later after doing the 30 day challenge twice, I feel freakin fantastic. It's a great way to get into a fitness routine.

I've been using it for two weeks now and I'm enjoying it. It's become part of my waking up now and I'm finding I have much more energy in the morning.

at my gamestop, we've only sold about 6 copies. So obviously our store does not reflect the market.

I would imagine this is one of those games that people mostly buy at Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart; not game stores.

Sequel? Yeah. Too soon. But an expansion that focuses on core exercises? Definately needed.

While Wii Fit may not be the answer for people used to going to the gym or being active in sports, it's great for people who have health problems. Low impact, aims for accuracy in form not just quantity or speed. Not to mention being great for people who aren't comfortable with exercising around others. Don't discount it just because it's not hardcore.

This is not good for more interesting games...

because EA Sports Active 2 isn't going to sell half as much.

"This is bad for more interesting games, since this is all EA will do now."

While I actually enjoy EA Sports Active, I hope you don't turn out to be correct. I think EA has enough going for it to be able to concentrate more on "active" games while still bringing out other genres.
