I think pre-ordering just allows you to unlock them from the start instead of having to earn them by playing through the game.

Even PS3 owners see you're a fanboy ;)

Or more likely it's because the whole Forza vs GT arguments are *very* sad. I don't think I've ever seen so much bickering between two games like this. Perhaps it's because they're so similar.

I'm not THAT bad anymore tho....lol

and the Comparison is because dude from Turn 10 was talking shit....saying how they have "More Cars than any other Racing game" and how he "USE to admire Polyphony, but they dropped the ball and we picked it up and ran with it"

yea he is being a conceited prick and is gonna eat his words....

@Captain Planet

Driving "shit", everyday cars is part of the fun from the GT franchise, since GT1. So yeah, don't act like you're the voice of millions. Chill and go play your supercars on FM3.

I disagree. Driving some shitbox 60hp Daihatsu is not fun.

That's part of the fun of GT? Driving shitty cars for hours, racing the same races day in day out so you can have enough money to buy the next shitty car and eventually, 3 months down the line, have enough to actually break the 120mph barrier?

*yawn*

Crappy cars at the beginning of the game is not fun, agreed, but if you can customize it, buy second hand parts for it, win a few races and finally upgrade to a Celica, then you feel better about your achievements. Not everyone wants to buy a Mitsubishi day 1 unless its a run down third hand mitsubishi that has a very neagtive MOT outlook, lol.

@ Captain Planet:

If you don't like it and if thats the case, why bother even playing Forza? You could have more fun playing NFS or Burnout, breaking the speed limit, getting chased and not having any restrictions including tracks to stop you going haywire.

Its all in what you want in a game, it may be boring for you, but don't forget there are some people who prefer to work their way up, otherwise most games would start you off having everything so theres little point to playing them. 'Progressing' stands for a reason.

although i know forza and gt are very similar, their really very different, forza is more about customization and community features, while gt is much more realistic with all the license tests and whatnot. but it is a shame that even the psp version of gt will have more cars than forza 3, even if alot of those cars are not exotics, it goes with the whole realistic feel, because let's be honest when was the last time you saw a veyron out on the road?

@Captain Planet

Seems like you just want to hate on the game.

You're not forced to drive shit cars just to get money, you can win cars by doing the license tests and then sell them.

Ok, maybe you don't like doing the license tests, GT4 introduced the Mission Races, here, unless you were a suck driver or don't like to drive/race cars at all, you got no excuse. Doing just a couple of races you could score some pretty fast cars. From there you could sell them or use them to win any race they could get in. You could use A-spec and score just 1 point, you could use B-spec and let the AI win for you.

Or you could take the challenge and drive one of the "shitty", everyday cars. You know, some peope find fun on challenges. The choice was there.

Forza sucks A$$ they call it realistic but it is BORING, the cars act like football/soccer players one tap and they all over the place in GT cars feel sturdy and i think it is better without damage because even if you want a racing sim who the hell wants to be worrying that the tyres might wear thin while driving just makes it boring

Anyone arguing that GT is far superior to Forza, or vice versa, may as well slap a 'fanboy' label on their forehead. They're both equally fine/boring (delete as appropriate) racing games. I'll stick with GRID in the meantime.

Wasn't GT5 originally supposed to be a launch title for PS3? I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. In my opinion they've made it TOO comprehensive. I don't need intricately modeled interiors of minivans and light trucks in my racing simulator. Just give me the damn game, PLEASE!

Also, didn't GT3 or GT4 have a Lamborghini Diablo that was unlocked when you hit 100%? I remember it having a wacky paint scheme.

Yes and No.

There was always the word about the next GT, I don't remember they saying it would be a launch title. They released the trailer of the "Vision GT", sporting more cars on the track, still using the GT4 engine etc, then more info about the game itself (GT HD), then GT5 Prologue. Given all the things that Kaz wanted to (and the way he wanted to) implement in the GT series, it would unrealistic to expect the game to come out so early :\

That Diablo, is just a "race spec" owned by one of the turismo team NOMAD. Just like RUF, they turn out to be different cars then a stock Diablo or Porsche, on the RUF case they are classed as a manufacturer, so it's a "RUF car" and not a "modified Porsche". People are really anal about that.

If Kaz got Porsche on board, I hope they don't dump RUF.

Thanks for the reply, I was having a heck of a time finding any trace of a Lamborghini in GT3, but searching NOMAD cleared it right up.

The Lamborghini Diablo was in the Japanese version of GT3. So this wouldn't be the first time a Lamborghini has appeared in a GT game. :)

now all that is needed is the Porsche licence and GT is complete. i have always wanted to race a 911 in GT but the closes thing to that was a RUF

We can only hope. Kaz said you can transfer cars between the games and that was it. Given some hints that GT5 may have "only" 600 cars, it is hard to guess what he really meant (but we can be sure that THOSE (Bugatti, Lambo) cars will be present on GT5).

At minimum, we can expect the same abilities as when transfering things like money or licenses from GT3/GT4:Prologue to GT4, only this time we may be able to transfer some cars as well.

i'm one of the sado masochists that enjoys racing around in the shitty cars, driving the 12 hour races, ect...

there's something about getting a good force feedback wheel and pedals with gran turismo and just driving.

no other racing game has made me want to know more about the cars I am driving.

i haven't had the chance to play Forza, but it does sound like something that would appeal to me if i had an xbox, especially the wear and tear aspect.

GT seems to be made for car enthusiasts first and gamers second.... which can be good or bad, depending on what side of the fence you are.
