Its always sad to see a MMO that people have invested a lot of time in collapse. But at least it looks like the players were having a good time up until the end. You can watch a video of some last hour shenanigans over at Giantbomb.

Totally agree. I too *HIGHLY* recommend viewing the GiantBomb Matrix online ending. Phenomenal.

Matrix online seemed to live for a bit longer than I had expected. I was always interested in playing, just not paying a monthly fee... I like ownership, not renting...Possibly because payment is difficult too >_>

I think we are overdue a current gen Matrix game. Such a good property with an excellent story and possibilities to be an awesome game. Path of Neo was almost there. Someone needs to take it over and make a new game.

huh I expected the apocolypse and from pictures it seemed rather uneventful. I was hoping for an agent smith invasion. have the whole matrix 2 redux. well here is hoping that TOR doesn't go the same way.

Yeah, I caught up with the Giant Bomb broadcast of it the next day, total disappointment. Nothing but lame dancing. They should have made the game end like the Path of Neo game.

Wow. That must have been a lame ending. (Lamer even than Matrix Revolutions.) o_O

And when these roughly 20–30 people were really a major part of the remaining crowd of players (on that server), I would say it is even more surprising Matrix Online survived that long...

At least the truce between the humans and machines made me go "Well it was different at least." But after watching the Animatrix, I kind of ended up siding with the machines.
