The move will coincide with the relaunch of Blizzard's Battle.net service, according to the report.

not shocking, but still lame....
thain @ Aug 5th 2009 4:54PM
Can we have a new segment on things that We as consumers can delay until Q1 2010?
Paying Taxes?
Doing the Laundry?
Finally getting that degree?
Jason @ Aug 5th 2009 5:05PM
Hey "thain". I selected "+" for your comment but then realized that it had nothing to do with the comment that you replied to, which means you are a douche, so I take it back.
Kodros @ Aug 5th 2009 7:20PM
Sorry, no takey backsies.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Aug 5th 2009 7:24PM
Not sure what country you're in thain, but here in the US, taxes are due April the 15th, which is technically the start of the second quarter.
Sorry.
Ordeith @ Aug 5th 2009 8:42PM
Maybe they can add LAN play while they wait?
Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 4:48PM
Aaaaaand we're not surprised!!
AsherR @ Aug 5th 2009 5:26PM
I! Am! Totally! Shocked!
...Not so much. I dunno, I like SC, but I'd really like to see a new Warcraft strategy game. Doubt I'll ever see that though! I personally enjoyed the hero system in WC3.
BTW Cap, can i be a Planeteer?
Stevetrop @ Aug 5th 2009 6:05PM
The things is when ever blizzard puts out a release date you always add +3 years. Thats a given to any fan of blizzard.
Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 6:09PM

If you would like to be considered for a position among the team, simply state your country of origin and the power you wish to control.
The Planeteer Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status (though we prefer brown people overall). If you need assistance or an accommodation during the application process because of a disability, it is available upon request (Ma-Ti is more than willing to "help" you). The company is pleased to provide such assistance, and no applicant will be penalized as a result of such a request (unless you're asian).
AsherR @ Aug 5th 2009 6:21PM
Do you have any vacancies in the "Not really a Captain Planet Power" Dept?
Like Gravity, Lightning (Can't remember if Wind got any lightning or storm powers...).
Otherwise, I'll take Wheeler's punk ass spot. What the hell kind of name is Wheeler?
And my country of decent is the US.
AsherR @ Aug 5th 2009 6:24PM
Also, I hope my spelling fail doesn't hurt my chances to join the team.
Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 6:54PM
I like your enthusiasm kiddo. Congratulations, you've made the team! Please update your Joystiq screen name accordingly to:
AsherR [Planeteer | Power of Lightning]
And remember, the power is YOURS!
AsherR [Planeteer | Power of Lightning] @ Aug 5th 2009 7:48PM

AsherR [Planeteer | Power of Lightning] @ Aug 6th 2009 11:25AM
Btw, I had a preemptive pun.
See my first name and first comment in this thread.
BOOM! Psychic puns!
The Dark Wayne @ Aug 5th 2009 4:50PM
Wow, if there was any game that could weather the holiday rush...
AsherR @ Aug 5th 2009 6:34PM
Weather? Cause it's from Blizzard, right? RIGHT?
Did I pull that pun out of nowhere or was it subtly intended, Dark Wayne? Be honest. Has the Joker rubbed off on you?
BananaBoat @ Aug 5th 2009 10:20PM
I'm pretty sure that was the pun. Thanks for pointing it out to us.
My real concern here is that it's a cold day in hell when Blizzard releases two games in one year. If Starcraft II is hitting in 2010, what are the chances that Diablo III won't be pushed back into 2011?
(see what I did there? Eh? Eh? Doya? Doyasee?)
Zerokku @ Aug 5th 2009 4:50PM
Incoming shitstorm of people complaining

Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 4:52PM
Nah, PC gamers are too cool for this place. The only thing we usually complain about are improper tags but it looks like Joystiq is on point today.
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:01PM
Your comment sickens me.
Zerokku @ Aug 5th 2009 5:10PM
@ Shadowbender
Why? Because I expect people to bitch about a highly awaited game being delayed? (Never mind the fact this is Blizzard)
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:17PM
No, no, no. My comment was a reply to Captain Planet. Sorry, man.
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:20PM
Actually, that Joker pic was pretty funny.
Nerdy Desi @ Aug 5th 2009 5:59PM
Captain Planet, you are a PC gamer?
Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 6:57PM
Yes, Nerdy Desi. I am.
PC gamer first
Xbox gamer second
iPhone gamer, erm, Rolando 2 gamer third
Karaoke phenom last
Darkdrium777 @ Aug 5th 2009 4:50PM
The Terrans must have gotten lost in the Warp again. Oh well, see you in 2010.
BlackBeltJones @ Aug 5th 2009 4:50PM
Oh well.
NaeemTHM @ Aug 5th 2009 4:52PM
Want some more shocking news? It'll be delayed a few more times in the next year.
Anyway, I don't mind this. Blizzard, like Valve, tend to delay to make a better game.
Dirty @ Aug 5th 2009 4:52PM
I say we get a petition going.
Captain Planet (now accepting new Planeteer recruits) @ Aug 5th 2009 4:55PM
Dear Activision Blizzard,
Can you stop swimming in your WoW moolah, like Scrooge McDuck and release Starcraft 2 this year?
kthxbai,
Enraged Starcraft Dork #5,999,102
XGM @ Aug 6th 2009 12:30AM
@ Captain Planet
47,817,000 Would have been a better number to start with.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Aug 5th 2009 4:53PM
And we only get 1/3rd of the game when it comes out anyway.
CaramelZappa @ Aug 5th 2009 5:53PM
1/3 of the game and less features than the original.
Amoveo @ Aug 5th 2009 10:44PM
I was worried about that too, but then I read in an interview that the Terran campaign will feature as many missions as the entire original game and feature full multiplayer with all three races. So really it doesn't seem like a bad deal.
jere @ Aug 6th 2009 12:39AM
And anyway, it couldn't have less features. It would have to have fewer.
Sorry to be that guy...
Gibbeynator @ Aug 5th 2009 4:53PM
I hope this doesn't turn into the next StarCraft Ghost.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Aug 5th 2009 4:56PM
Must take a long time to REMOVE features from a game...
Or they want to wait until they unveil the next WoW expansion so their investors have something to gawk at other than Diablo III.
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 4:58PM
Man, I didn't see that coming! Son of a gun!
(Sarcasm, dang it, sarcasm!)
Old Professor Zertoss @ Aug 5th 2009 5:00PM
Man, I can't wait until 2010 so I can start buying video games again!
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:02PM
+1.
the4thheat @ Aug 20th 2009 2:13AM
2010? Make that 2011, every Blizzard game has to be delayed at least 2 years if it's any good.
The Dark Wang(Sweatshop Dick) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:06PM
StarCraft II delayed until 2047
Shadowbender (Wiizer Sweatshop Head of Abuse and Discipline) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:08PM
Surprise, surprise.
Cloud_ST @ Aug 5th 2009 5:14PM
We waited 10 years for a single announcement of this game,I think we can wait a little more.
They still suck for taking out the Lan though.
The Dark Wang(Sweatshop Dick) @ Aug 5th 2009 5:15PM
Is LAN really that important?
Old Professor Zertoss @ Aug 5th 2009 5:17PM
Yes.
Cloud_ST @ Aug 5th 2009 5:18PM
@The Dark Wang
You mean, the reason why people make LAN Parties?
Yeah,I think so.
jynxycat @ Aug 5th 2009 5:19PM
LAN parties were cool (lol?) like 10 years ago.
