Get over yourself. Just because you don't like it/Nintendo, doesn't mean other people don't. The game was critically praised across the board and most people love it.

Don't forget that games sell to casual gamers more slowly, so expect it to reach a billion by next year, or at least 10 million, like Mario Kart.

You know, I was a Wii hater, and thought it was a fad, but yesterday I went to the mall with my friends and we went to gamestop, and WSR was on display

we played till they kicked us out. I had so much fun, swordfighting, dogfighting, and believe it or not canoeing. I think nintendo really got a grasp on how to make fun, short, but infinitely replayable mini-games. I'm still not gonna re-buy a Wii, but I give them props. stop hating tmac.

What's with all the Wii hate? It's not like they forced anyone to buy the console or any of their games. If u think the games suck and people still buy them, BLAME THE DUMB PEOPLE! (or accept the fact they have different opinions)

There's no getting through to you, is there?

My point is that even though you don't agree with Nintendo's company strategy for the Wii (protip: neither do I, nor many many others), or even don't like WiiSports Resort, you don't have to be such an annoying troll.

I don't usually play multiplayer games except Mario Kart with my friends, but I've been playing WiiSports Resort both with my friends and by myself. I think it's good, and it's a lot more deep experience than both WiiSports and what most companies churn out as minigame collections on the Wii.

Who's hating on the wii? I'm only talking about this "game". People who spend $50 on a casual shovelware title shouldn't have the right to spend money without some sort of expert supervision.

Oh right, casual=shovelware, always. Opinions, opinions. I like the game. You don't. That sounds reasonable.

Saying that people who buy this game shouldn't have a right to spend money is completely unreasonable. Come ON, you aren't even a funny troll like Cody.

In all seriousness, tmac, you DO raise valid concerns from time to time about certain products, this NOT being one of them.

Have you played Wii Sports Resort? Yes or No.

I played the original wii sports around launch time, which was enough torture for me. I can't play games with no substance or depth to them, I get bored.

so what you're saying is we should censor what people buy?

Good, maybe then I won't have to look at those god-awful Metallica CDs when I go looking for new beats

First they came for the casuals, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a casual;
Then they came for the Street Fighters, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Street Fighter;
Then they came for the third-person shooters, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a third-person shooter;
Then they came for the jocks, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a jock;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and actually hoped that you had at least tried the game before completely blasting it...

Cody, please shave off the douche-ma-gooster jaw line beard and wash ALL your clothes in scalding hot water so that they shrink down a size or two. You got a lot of douche going on over there, I'm just trying to help you take it down a few notches.

Really people, you expect this game to sell less than 10 million? you must be one of those new casual gamers.

The business has changed. You are not the most important customer anymore.Whatever innovating stuff will be targeted to less nagging people.

Imagine the xbox as the Porsche and the Ps3 as the Ferrari, you sell a few to the elite, the Wii is the minivan, everyone and their neighbor owns at least one.

The funny thing is the Wii is doing the exactly the same thing as the Ps2, yet somehow 2x faster without any price drops. The Xbox and the Gamecube were superior hardware, yet no one cared.

Anyone else find it somewhat amusing that tmac is calling a game full of real life sports a "minigame collection". I mean, I'm pretty sure people who play golf don't consider it a minigame. Nor to people who play bowling, or enjoy kayaking.

Seriously dude, you're crapping all over video game versions of real sports. And you've never played it. How thick are you, really?

Blitz 20-03 is one of the best football games ever made, above Tecmo Super Bowl and behind NFL 2k5.

Not realistic? Yes. Still football? Yes. Still awesome? Yes.
That being said I acquired Wii Sports Resort and played it for about an hour trying all the games and haven't touched it again.

BUT BLITZ IS SOOOO GOOD

Oh tmac. How does it feel to know that you've blasted whatever credibility your whole "psyche paper" thing managed to secure? You claimed it was about irrational trolls "but are you strong enough to point that high-powered perception at yourself? What about it? Why don't you - why don't you look at yourself and write down what you see? Or maybe you're afraid to."

If you believe that there is enough info out there to judge a game without playing it, then you'd have to agree that Wii Sports Resort is a good game - as the majority of information out there says so. Otherwise you're just a sad, blatant excuse for a troll.

Keep in mind that this is just a week and a half, and that Wii games tend to have a long selling period, as opposed to a tail. This is going to just keep selling more.

It's fun and will sell many millions more, but it's just another version of what shipped with the Wii. Good for like 15 minutes then what? Play the same area....again?

Hopefully we'll be seeing some of these demo game ideas work their way into real games.

IMO.

Hard to compare an online map of some game to an offline minigame compilation. you're getting more mileage out of the online game - doing multiple things over a period of time, this just gets old after 30 minutes - you're doing one or two mechanics over and over. A more varied scenery would have been nice - adjustable weather maybe?

how many times have you played the expert archery course?

"you're doing one or two mechanics over and over"

again, how is that different from say, CoD 4 online or Left 4 Dead? You shoot and try not to die, those are the 2 mechanics.
