We bring you sad tidings of yet another game's delay into 2010 -- but two elements of this particular delay may soothe your frayed nerves. First, the title in question will only be delayed in Europe, where a good number of you do not live. Second, the delayed title is Guitar Hero: Van Halen, which a good number of you apparently could not care less about.
Activision recently told Eurogamer that the PAL version of the "Jump"-infused rhythm title would not hit store shelves later this year. The game has since undergone a release date bump to "TBD 2010" -- not the "Q1 2010" window we've become so accustomed to seeing this year's titles pushed to. The publisher didn't explain the reason for the delay, but we're pretty certain it didn't want Van Halen competing with the other 58 rhythm titles it's releasing this holiday season.

It would be the lowest selling GH game ever, thats for sure. VH doesn't have much of a name here at all, even AC/DC has a bigger name and that didnt do very well at all.

It's as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I actually like the setlist, but I'll pick it up when it's used for $25 that way I'll get my monies worth of VH songs, and Activision doesn't see a penny, like I did for Smash Hits, $45 used = $1 per song and no money to Activision

To all those who think that buying a game used means Activision gets none of your money:
For you to buy it used, someone had to buy it new and they may well have paid full price knowing they could re-sell it and recoup some of their money. If you weren't willing to buy used games, those games wouldn't sell as many new copies. It's like you and the other person split the cost of the new game.
So, you are still contributing to the publisher's coffers, whether you like it or not.
If you really want to punish Activision, don't buy their games at all.

People will still buy it regardless of what I do, so I say 1 sale is better than 2

im actually one of the few that is actually looking forward to this game, and is from the UK. The question now is do i import.
One thing i really do not understand is why there is so much hate for this. Sure i can understand that people want it as DLC, but thats not what gets me. Its the whole "ZOMG GH is being milked! RB FTW!" attitude, soon followed by all the RB: Beatles love. Why is it sooooo bad for there to be a GH:Van Halen, but OK for there to be a RB:The Beatles? Am i missing something?!
All i can say is i like VH more than i like the beatles, and to me, GH:VH is more appealing than all the other RB/GH releases put together! so i am dissappointed :(
Less hate ppl, nobodies forcing you to buy it.

The thing I love about this article is that "we're pretty certain it didn't want Van Halen competing with the other 58 rhythm titles it's releasing this holiday season", and the "other 58 rhythm titles" links all link to another Activision Guitar Hero spin-off.
I decided only to support Rock Band a while ago. Right after Rock Band: Unplugged came out and Activision then decided to make a portable Guitar Hero, and I know it's gonna be exactly like RB:U.

Hey, you know that there's already 3 portable Guitar Hero's out? And two of them came out a long time BEFORE Unplugged.
