I always wanted to try this rockband, does anyone know if its any good?

And if PSPgo is download only, how will pre-order bonuses work? (GTpsp For example)

Tried it in Gamestop and thought it was pretty good. Just lacking a good amount of songs.

I've beaten the story mode and unlocked all the songs. Plenty of songs there, I'd put it on par with RB2's built in song list.

I actually prefer the gameplay of RBU, the track changing presents a challenge and hints of strategy.

The PSN has at least 2 downloadable songs per week, sometimes more.

I can't get used to switching between instruments, it breaks the flow for me.
But there is a mode where you can play only one instrument.

It's pretty terrible. Too many of the songs have already been used in Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Switching between tracks constantly kills any feeling of actually playing music and the sound quality is ass.

It came with my 3000. I got that bundle because it had the biggest memory stick and I wasn't particularly interested in any of the other pack-in games, and I generally like Guitar Hero/Rock Band and other music games.

And before the Harmonix fanboys devour me, at least remember that this wasn't developed by Harmonix. It was developed by Backbone Entertainment, who are just a terrible developer anyway.

If you liked Amplitude you'll like this. Same game different songs.

Yeah, if you come to this expecting Rock Band, you'll be disappointed. If you come to this expecting a Amplitude or a fun rhythm game (with bits of strategy), it's a lot of fun.

If you want portable music-simulation, get *shudders* GH: On Tour.

@Roto13

You have mentioned many many times how you hated Backbone so you were not going to give RBU a chance no matter what.

Enticing to some....would be better if it had like 4-5 Game Vouchers. Would be a LOT easier to swallow that $250 price point

Bleh, nothing really at this point is going to make PSP Go look good - outside of them waking up and putting a real battery in it.

I thought the battery life was going to be about the same as the current PSP, which seems to be plenty

Smaller battery - they had every opportunity to put the same battery in and have longer times instead they put something cheaper in - then charge more money. Bleh.On.Them.

I want a Go, but the $250 is just too much (even with a game voucher). I'll just be sticking with my original PSP model.

It'd be great if they give a voucher for Gran Turismo Portable, I'd buy it for sure. Or even better, a $50 USD PSN card to buy stuff.
People'll buy a PSP Go at the retail store, but cannot buy any games for it. If nothing is included, I imagine some people will buy the PSP Go as a gift, and forget to get a PSN card too. Then the person receiving won't have anything to play by then, unless they have a credit card, or just get some demos...

My price point for this PSP is a price at or lower than the DS. Why? I have a limited discretionary Income (like many people) and the fact is that Sony is in the market with Nintendo on this and I can only afford 1 handheld. I want a game system and nothing else. Why blow $100 more for a game system when both will give me equal enjoyment. Sony has to realize that THIS is what goes through the majority of buyer's minds. If I had the luxury of having more money to spend on entertainment then I would LOVE a PSP. Truth is that as a money wise gamer why would I be expected to buy the "more expensive one". Don't take this as a rant against Sony because I love their game systems but it seems that Sony is oblivious to the economy and the competition.

Actually there are songs that are exclusive to the PSP (for now) like ABC and Kryptonite.

The majority are rehashes though.

It's a good game to include to highlight this device's download-centric nature, and it would be hard for them to beat Rock Band in terms of sheer name recognition, unless they went with something much more mainstream (but less unique to PSP), like Madden

How bout a vouncher for any game seeing as how much this bad boy is going to cost me. To be honest its a nice idea to have Rock Band on the go but I rather play it with the instruments and with other people.

Earth to Sony: At its current price, the PSP Go is DOA.

Never so often have I seen a company point the gun so squarely at their own foot.

I would have thought that for new hardware and to get the people to buy it Sony would have bundled it with GT (since this is a game that people have been asking for since the system launched). That would make a lot more sense than shipping it with what a 3 month old game. Or just include a voucher for $40 bucks so if someone wants to download GT from the PSN when they get the system home or what to purchase a greatest hits game and use the remaining amount on the "apps" that will be sure to be released.

Apparently the Go comes with a clock and radio. WOW that is worth extra money or more like a firmware update for the system. Chances are there will be a premium calender and digital/alarm clock upgrade at the store if you desire. Nothing like the nickel and diming from Sony. I would hit the launch system with GT and do another bundle with MGS when that launches next year to get the people interested.

Here would be a better bundle for Sony for the holidays a slim PS3 and Go for $500.

It is going to take Sony at least a month or until Christmas toget all the backlog decent titles on the store.

Rock Band Unplugged? Really? They can't just release it with Gran Turismo or LittleBigPlanet or some other game that could actually be fun to play?

my thoughts exactly. if it was 250 with little big planet and maybe like a voucher for a cheaper game on the PSN store than I might be inclined to get one.

A mediocre rhythm game on a handheld, thus already making it a pain in the ass to play, warrant the 250 dollar price tag? Fuck no.

This game is total crap to me at first glance. I played the demo, and then went back to playing DJ MAX. It feels very slowed down, and the switching breaks the flow.

If you're looking for a good rhythm game, buy one of the games in the DJ Max series...if you can handle the difficulty.

I REALLY hated Patapon...I had no fun with it at all, and it's not REALLY a rhythm game. It's more a side scrolling adventure game.

I can see why people like it, I just couldn't get into it. It makes me sad.

"Exclusive Rock Band Unplugged Demo Voucher"? That makes no sense that it comes with a voucher to download a demo. Since when do you need a voucher to download a demo?

Maybe it's a different demo than the existing one, but still - IT'S A DEMO! Seriously, Sony, don't be that cheap. Include something other than a demo. Back in the day, you used to be able to get discs with lots of demos on them, but now you need a code, and you get one demo, and it's supposed to be a selling feature? I think it's dumb.
