Is anyone at all bothered by the fact that THERE WILL BE NO CHALLENGE. All their stuff is ridiculously simple to play. They were a pop band, not a progressive band.

#1. I don't think singing 3 part harmony will be a walk in the park.
#2. I'd prefer it be somewhat simplistic and feel like "playing" than cater to your ilk and over-chart, a la the GH series.

The first two Rock Bands have plenty of challenge toward the end and they don't overchart. All their songs are like 2 minutes long, and don't have any great solos. It's going to get boring because you're going to be playing the same thing over and over again. You're basically paying for Beatles karaoke with a Tier 1 level rhythm game tacked on.

Here Comes The Sun
Revolution
Get Back
Octopus's Garden.
These are all great guitar songs. Sure they're not as hard as Green Grass and High Tides or Painkiller, but whatever.

You, sir, are not the target demographic for this game if you're worried about challenge. Also there are plenty of songs in RB1 and 2 where the hardest part of the game is performing a 3 or 4 not combination over and over again. After awhile it's not about the challenge of hitting that 136 note hammer-on/Pull-off combo it's about trying to go 3 minutes without your hand cramping. You want to complain about difficulty then go play GH and it's over charted button mash fest.
I'm not even the biggest fan of the beatles, and I may or may not eventually buy it but even I understand that people who want the game want it because they're fans and they just want to play and/or sing the songs whether the game is mind meltingly difficult or not isnt even in their minds.

No, screw that. It's all pop. Just because they use different effects and play even fewer notes that usual does not make it interesting to PLAY, which is what you want to do right. It's not technically interesting music, which is going to make it boring. Rush is progressive, the Beatles are not.

Boy, do you have sand in your vagina. Sure, The Beatles aren't Prog, but they're more important to rock music than any other group (Yeah, yeah, I know all about Elvis and Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. I said GROUP.).

I'm not saying they're unimportant. They are, for sure. And I'm not saying they weren't good, because they were. I'm saying, that they're a terrible choice to center a rhythm game around because nothing will be challenging. It doesn't need to be Dream Theater or Dragonforce, but come on, can't it be a little more difficult?

Maybe some people are okay with just playing along with music by The Beatles, and like the music enough to not mind that it's relatively easy?
Just a guess.

For the 1960s, The Beatles were progressive. As for Rush, The Beatles had an influence on them and many many others.
It's The Beatles. It is great in so many ways to play them in this virtual world of gaming. I would love to be able to play on a real guitar and whatnot, but my skills and time are lacking, so I must settle for a few songs. With this game, I'll be able to connect in completely new way.
It's not about the challenge with these games (for me anyway), it's about playing songs that I enjoy. This game will do that every time I play.

Clearly you have not really listened to all of the Beatles music. Their early stuff will be really easy, because it is just well structured pop. But pretty much anything after "Rubber Soul" is going to be harder. Helter Skelter, A Day in The Life, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, I am The Walrus, Dig a Pony.... the list goes on. To say it is all simple pop stinks of ignorance of their music. But, since they broke up almost 40 years ago, it's understandable that some young people don't understand/like them. But, honestly, if you listen to a good mix of their music, it's hard not to like them. I will agree though, that many of their early songs will come off repetitive in this game. But, since it is the Beatles, it will be fun to play anyway.

Oh yeah, I forgot: Rush? Really? REAAAALLLY?! That band is stuck in a period. It will forever be the crap music of the 1980's and 90's. The Beatles transcend a time period. How else can you explain that they are making a game of them 40+ years later?
Really though, Rush is the best example you can come up with?

I apologize to Rush and fans. I shouldn't associate douchebaggery with them. Personally, I don't like them, but to each his own. But, really though, the best band he could come up with to match the Beatles is Rush?

I think that and seeing the camera cut to the same two girls in the audience will definitely get annoying after the first couple of songs once the novelty wears off.

I'm assuming those levels will go away after the first couple levels, since the Beatles didn't tour after 1966, and the bulk of their music was studio work. I hope the game remembers that, since those screaming fans would get hell of annoying. John Lennon hated them too, you know.

You can boil down any game to "just pushing buttons."
But most people have enough fun playing games like Rockband with their friends to justify spending time just pushing buttons.
