Got up early this morning for the live show. Well, not really early, it was almost 10, and I kinda had to get up this morning anyway. Still, going to listen to it now.

I just beat Tales of Vesperia and it is the first JRPG I have played this generation. Last podcast Ludwig says it is one of the few good JRPGs this generation. What are some others Ludwig? (I'm writing this before listening to the new podcast so sorry if you answer this in the podcast.)

Chris i just played Mass Effect over again last week and i just browsed through the achievements, and i cannot recall a part where you have to disarm anyone without shooting other than using the thorian gas grenade on Feros, but there's no achievement for anything like that. What are you talking about?
Posted: Aug 7th 2009 5:22PM TheDarkWayne said
oh wait you were talking about Mirror's Edge, i heard absolutely no transition for those, really confused

Posted: Aug 7th 2009 5:27PM TheDarkWayne said
yeah i just listened to it again and you said "that game" after saying Mass Effect but started talking about Mirror's Edge? I think?

haha, I was totally confused by this as well. Who does the editing for goodness sake! ;-)
It was Chris, I think, who mentioned Mass Effect and then started to talk about the disarming achievement. And then Ludwig mentioned the turnstile part of the game and I was straining my brain to try to remember that part. Ugh! I finally caught on when someone mentioned the developer Dice. I had to rewind about 5 minutes to hear it again. Funny.

That last email has to be fake. It's too wonderful to be real.

OK I've been trying to enter this code for the last 10-15 minutes and I'm stumped. Either somebody already redeemed it and didn't let us know, or I'm a complete bloke who doesn't understand a British accent. Either way, would somebody post the code after they figure it out so I can see where I went wrong?
Love the podcast, it always starts my weekend off right!

Apparently you guys missed the news that the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition has already been announced. They announced it when they announced the DLC would be coming for the PS3. Coming in Rocktober.

The ending just about had me in tears. I'm not sure that it's real, but still outrageously funny.

Oh yeah, was a little disappointed not to hear the Tip of the Week sound that I sent in, but it is different than any other sounder people have made. And perhaps Justin doesn't want to have to listen to that on a regular basis. I had started on it back with the "Is it real or fake" Nintendo game and had the thought that his laugh had to be useful for something.

I think someone already used the code...
If it's been used it says invalid as well...
I came up with:
F8MRQ-DX9VS-R9FKX-9FDYB-328MQ
But oh well, have fun everyone.
Oh, And awesome podcast guys.

I tried every possible combination for the last half hour... so yeah..
if the code was already used and I got it right at some try, it would've said "code already used"
wonderfull....

@Justin: Early in the show you mentioned that you were not going to waste anyone's time by continuing to talk about the new Batman game that no one else has had a chance to play yet. This was shortly after the 4th week of yet another 30 minute plus discussion on a 20 year old game.
Ok, maybe you didn't talk about Monkey Island THAT long this week, but I think you're picking up what I'm putting down. You're in a unique position to get this review games, and I'd much rather hear you talk about the hot new stuff instead of the same thing week after week. I think George Washington said it best when he said, "Remember Petey, with great power comes great responsibitity."

it's pointless to talk about new stuff if it all sucks...

I will not defend Star Ocean's story, but everything Ludwig said about Tales's combat I think could apply to Star Ocean. The combat is pretty fun in Star Ocean, and it is real time.

I am ashamed in you Joystiq. I thought it was fairly obvious that it was a joke.
Still, great podcast, and the fact that it was a joke didn't make it any less funny.
