Rock Band Weekly: Gorillaz, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Who
Oh my, too many good tracks in next week's Rock Band Weekly to play off of for the basis of this post. Do we ask about breaking off a piece of our heart because of the Janis Joplin track, or do we go ask Alice when she's 10 feet tall? Ask her what? Exactly! A perfect psychedelic question. Now, feed your head by checking out the full list of tracks for all of the various Rock Band games after the break -- oh yeah, there's also the Gorillaz next week.

Marty @ Aug 7th 2009 11:12AM
Yeah, if I played Rock Band, I'd get some Gorillaz for it. Love 'em!
WINterfang @ Aug 7th 2009 11:39AM
Heck yeah! I love Gorillaz!! but I don't see myself playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band.
Mr. Cantu @ Aug 7th 2009 1:07PM
F Yeah! I'm getting the Gorillaz pack!

Mr.Happy @ Aug 17th 2009 8:42PM
YES. I LOVE RE-HASH.
Ben Forbes @ Aug 7th 2009 11:06AM
And now I don't need to buy Guitar Hero 5.
Woz @ Aug 7th 2009 11:18AM
I just need to get Sympathy for the Devil on RB, then I'll be right with you.
Paul @ Aug 7th 2009 12:41PM
this is exactly what i was thinking. every song on guitar hero 5 that i think would be fun to play, rock band adds as DLC. gotta love competition....
BleachMan! @ Aug 7th 2009 12:56PM
All I need is The Spirit of Radio by Rush, and I can officially no longer consider getting GH5.
kavendano14 @ Aug 7th 2009 1:14PM
all I need is more Radiohead ( props if you get it)
MowDownJoe @ Aug 7th 2009 5:35PM
Because All I Need is a song by Radiohead! I get it!
By that same token, it's never Too Little Too Late for more Barenaked Ladies.
Westifire @ Aug 8th 2009 8:46AM
Exactly what I was thinking...
BeckRokk @ Aug 7th 2009 11:10AM
Awesome. Looks like I'm buying everything this week.
Chimpanzebra @ Aug 7th 2009 11:10AM
Yay for doing the headline the way it should be done!
Martin @ Aug 7th 2009 11:31AM
Agreed! I'm happy to see this as well.
Konrad @ Aug 7th 2009 11:13AM
There is now a resurgence of Rock Band in my household. Hell yes. Magic Bus & Gorillaz. I'm just as pumped as I was when I saw Kings Of Leon in the headline a few weeks back.
__smooth__ @ Aug 7th 2009 11:18AM
Although they could've done with a few more Kings of Leon tracks, wouldn't you say?
JXCgunrunna @ Aug 7th 2009 11:14AM
This is a really good week
embassy @ Aug 7th 2009 5:55PM
I'm just happy my profile pic is featured on joystiq :)
Oh, the music's cool, too.
polledchild @ Aug 7th 2009 11:15AM
White Rabbit for the win!
Judd @ Aug 7th 2009 11:19PM
Yes, it's awesome. But you figure they could've also thrown in their one other big hit, "Somebody to Love."
"Piece of My Heart" should have been released as a three-pack along with "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Mercedes Benz".
Now, The Band. They need like a best-of compilation. Anything less than 6 more songs from them won't be enough.
xGearSecondx @ Aug 9th 2009 3:06AM
I fucking LOVE that song
Neuromancer @ Aug 7th 2009 11:14AM
Will someone throw the radio into the bathtub when we get to the part in White Rabbit where the rabbit bites its own head off? I need rising sound.
Squirtforce @ Aug 7th 2009 11:28AM
SON OF A BITCH! I double posted your comment! FROWNY FACE
oolz @ Aug 7th 2009 11:42AM
If nothing else you can get one of the maids to do it.
That Fuzzy Bastard @ Aug 7th 2009 11:19AM
Finally some Joplin! Now let's get "Down On Me" and "Combination of the Two"!
WINterfang @ Aug 7th 2009 11:38AM
Your avatar rocks.
stinger503 @ Aug 7th 2009 11:22AM
The Band?! MAOR PLZ!!!
Storm Eagle [Resident Capcom Megafan] @ Aug 7th 2009 11:21AM
Yeah, good stuff this week. Gotta get the Janis Joplin song for the wife. And the Gorillaz pack should be nothing short of fun to play.
Jarpo @ Aug 7th 2009 11:28AM
Another fantastic week, thanks HMX! Should be some more news coming later today via the Rock Band 'Zine. Sign up if you haven't already.
Jarpo @ Aug 7th 2009 11:31AM
Looks like I was wrong. The 'Zine was sent out about 20 minutes ago and all it basically says is to pre-order The Beatles: Rock Band to get the first look at all the news on the game. Laaaaaaame (The 'Zine, not the game).
Squirtforce @ Aug 7th 2009 11:27AM
When White Rabbit reaches that beautiful peak I want you to throw that fucking ps3 in the bathtub with me.
Neuromancer @ Aug 7th 2009 11:30AM
haha that's OK man, you put your own twist on it.
Shagittarius @ Aug 7th 2009 12:07PM
Eat some reds and try to calm down. Smoke some grass, shoot some fucking smack! Shit man, do whatever you gotta do.
Squirtforce @ Aug 7th 2009 12:08PM
Stone dead in ten seconds. Shit, they'll want me to explain it!
HappyFunBall @ Aug 7th 2009 11:28AM
No Gorillaz on the Wii? :-(
Apollo @ Aug 7th 2009 11:32AM
Gorillaz will come to the Wii eventually. :)
LaughingTarget @ Aug 7th 2009 11:29AM
"Who?"
"Yes."
"Who are you talking about?"
"The Who."
"Who?"
"Yes."
Greatest band name ever.
MLS @ Aug 7th 2009 11:31AM
I love Gorillaz, but they don't really strike me as a Rock Band kinda band. I mean, most of their songs are made with a lot of production layers, not a live bass-guitar-drum setup. Maybe M1 A1 would work, but nearly everything else uses instruments that Rock Bnad can't emulate/doesn't have.
Rocket Raccoon @ Aug 7th 2009 11:49AM
When they play live they play with a full band. Their live DVD is pretty much amazing.
Dr. Ew @ Aug 7th 2009 11:31AM
Yay for The Who & The Band (odd song choice, I must say).
Meh for The Airplane.
Janis Joplin was a fat troll hack who couldn't carry Erma Franklin's jockstrap.
ButtersParker @ Aug 7th 2009 1:53PM

Autobot @ Aug 7th 2009 11:33AM
"Every day I get in the queue, too much Magic Bus"
Who forever.
oOWallaceOo @ Aug 7th 2009 11:33AM
Does the "01" at the end of the Gorillaz pack just signify the year of the album they were taken from or does it mean it is the first in a series of packs ?
BustedChain @ Aug 7th 2009 11:41AM
Like all packs that have come out, the 01 signifies that it is the first pack to come out for that group. It does not mean that there will be more packs from that band, but there could be.
Ryan @ Aug 7th 2009 11:43AM
It means it's their first pack.
Also a bit of trivia, the only artists that have seen a Pack 02 so far have been Nine Inch Nails, Grateful Dead, and Weezer.
