If you were an early adopter of Fat Princess living in North America who was let down by the game's disconnection-prone online multiplayer, you may want to give it another shot -- Titan Studios recently released a patch for the title which is designed to improve server stability, reduce lag, and fix a few in-game bugs (such as broken hat machines and scoring exploits).
Fret not, European cake-feeders -- according to a recent blog post announcing the patch's release, the update will be coming to your fair continent next week. Until then, you can always spend your time playing the game's entertaining single-player offerings. Better yet, you can don a silly hat and start throwing cake at ladies in real life. We're sure they'd appreciate that.

I've been playing in the UK for a few days now and the only gripe I have is the shoddy AI in the game. The team with more human players always wins and people never opt to balance teams. Self regulation doesn't work!

I rather see someone starve, so I can start my own Anorexic Princess game. Oh, it will be good.

How could it not? They released it as a beta for 15 dollars, and now we are providing them with delicious data to mine for nuggets of wisdom.
Here's a list of the things that are still broken, and of why people still shouldn't buy the game:
- The AI is awful (and most matches will have at least some AI characters)
- The stalemates can go on forever (they're going to fix that next patch...wee for next patch)
- The class balance is still screwy (they gimped ice mage point scoring, but not their ability)
- The point scoring system, like the class balance system, is screwy (you'll never get over 1000 as the worker...unless you are super human)
- There is no way to know what new ways to get fabulous have gotten unlocked without changing your character and then having to manually change him back
- Host migration is still borked
- The single player campaign still has bugs up the ying yang (text appearing over text being number one on my list, not that I'll ever play the awful single player mode again)
- No matter what they say, the connection issues are still there in some capacity (it takes 2 or 3 tries for me to get into a game now, compared to 6 or 7) meaning the net code is probably awful and the source of the problem
I could go on and on. I'm frustrated at Sony (for making them release a beta) and at Titan for making a game that has so many problems folded into such a simple game. I think the failure of the game is that it's not pick up and play (a match can go for an hour) and that will probably kill the community once Modern Warfare 2 comes out (or something else of that sort).
Genius game idea, poor execution. I hope other companies can learn from this

i gotta agree with Bananaboat on this. i actually love the game but there are HUGE glaring problems with it. my main issues are the online connectivity (still haven't been able to play an online game yet), the text overlap during the single player was pretty annoying, and then the fact that the game is WAY too easy.
despite all that, it's still a fun game, just wish they would have waited now to release it (even though i was one begging for them to release it, but i would have made do)

Yes. SSFIITHDR was delayed in Europe because of the bugs. The game was released here soon after the US patch.

yeah once a week is still every week, but every week isn't specific enough. saying that might mean we throw cake at each other everyday, or it might mean we throw cake at each other only 1 day a week.

Sorry McWilly, you may look like a Troll but you don't have the attitude. If you search the dumpsters near your local BestBuy you might be lucky and catch Sprinkles so he can give you some trolling lessons.

Yeah the ‘this team sucks put me in the other team’ functionality doesn’t really work, you end up with 1 full team and 1 empty. Pretty much forces you to restart with a fresh game after a while.
Other than that it’s fun, and even though we don’t have the multiplayer patch yet, two out of three times I’ve played so far have been pretty lag-free fortunately. And everytime the host leaves my connection (100mbit) gets picked so I guess that helps too :).

This game is very fun and the patch helps alot. Before the patch it sometimes took up to 15 minutes to find a game but now it only takes one or two. The gameplay is fun and addicting, with 5 different classes that are well ballanced. The patch also got rid of the ice mage and dark priest expoits that made it way to easy to get points,( i used it 3 times and each time i got 10,000 points!!!!) I do think however the priest is unbalanced because everytime i go around healing with him I come in first easily. Also the ranking system needs to be fixed because now it ranks you based on your average number of points over the last ten games. I would much perfer an XP bar. The gametypes offer enough diversity toa llow alot of replayabilty but the main mode, Capure the Princess, takes way to long alot of the time due to the lack of people with mics and lack of a timer. I think that one person should lead attack and one should lead defense on each team and they should be able to mark wayopints for the team. This would improve the strategy a great deal. But the hack and slash gameplay and fun classes overcomes these shortcomings and if I were to rate this game i would give it a 9/10

@McWilly
Okay, I'm going to bite on this one...
You say that you expect this from all PSN games even though it's not the case.
What do you say then for XBL, which you pay $50 year after year, when it flakes out several times a year (Christmas, big releases like 1943, etc..)?
You gripe about a peer to peer (and free) system that flakes out here and there but yet have nothing to say about a pay to use system that fails just slightly less than the free one? If you have nothing to say about that, then I'm going to have to agree with the troll comments posted above...
You can't rail on one system without pointing out the flaws of another. Unless of course you are a blind fanboy... then there is really no debating with you because logic will have taken a back seat to emotion.

Im in the EU, and I'm enjoying the game without the patch. Chances are I'll enjoy it more once the niggle are ironed out.
Forgive my optimism, but the total lack of understanding from some of the trolls on this board HAS to be addressed.
So...FP was borked, they have patched it, problems solved. Yet the tw@s will still moan. So, would you have preferred they left it? We have your money....now f**k off. I think it shows A)dedication to the platform to perform due diligence after the fact and remedy what has gone wrong and B) shows a dev will panda to the masses and eat humble pie at it's won expense.
This happens a lot on the PSN, yes, because devs care. It'd be simple to point out that they should just release a picture perfect game from the get go but beta/test environments are a lot different that releasing it worldwide and pushing the servers to the extremes, and a lot of the problems you'll find in a title CAN only be found once in the public's hands. How quickly these issues are remedied is what should be at the forefront of peoples minds, and even tho I have yet to receive the Patch, I think Titan did a bang up job.

The patch changed nothing for me. I can get into games about 15% of the time instead of 10% and I've yet to be able to finish a game.
