The PSP version of Tekken 6 is going to have all the bells and whistles of its PS3 and Xbox 360 counterpart. At least, that's what Namco Bandai's public relations manager wants you to believe. Arne Cual-Pedroso told Siliconera that "pretty much everything in the console version will be in the PSP." And that includes downloadable content.
Namco Bandai is notorious amongst console gamers for its ridiculous abuse of DLC: Ace Combat, for example, featured over $200 worth of DLC. Another Namco PSP game, Idolmaster, features over $100 worth of DLC already. We're not sure exactly what Namco Bandai has in mind for Tekken 6, but handheld owners may feel the wrath of DLC very soon.

Exactly. Heihachi Disco Outfit! 5.99 USD!
Of course, the sad part is, companies wouldn't be thinking it's ok to charge for stupid costumes in a game (that add NO extra replay value to the original, unless you are mentally challenged and the idea of a new sweater vest in a game makes it somehow worth another play through), as long as people still support it. Obviously SOMEONE is buying this crap, and it's setting the precedent for other companies to follow.

I like DLC. I like stuff like real endings and maps that should have been in first place for a extra 10 bucks. I like that you have pay for stuff for unlockables you could have spent time on to get, just because you can't be the first one at the finish-line without getting the übercar that so many others worked so hard to get in first place...

As long as the game I buy is good enough I don't care about DLC. Namco seems to be too enthusiastic about their PSP versions of Tekken and Calibur. I prefer them on the console any day

In my opinion, fighting games are not good candidates for DLC in the first place. Costumes seem to be the mainstay for DLC and to me they don't offer any real substance...not $1.99 worth of substance anyways. New characters wouldnt fly with the community because they would make it unfair to players who havent bought new characters. I'd also hate to see a trend where chacters have to be bought. New stages...not real substance. New moves for existing characters...substance but again would throw the balance of the game and you shouldn't have to pay for things like that.
