Could've been done with PS3 and PSP as well. Not exactly the same due to lack of touchscreen, but I doubt that that is the what the fun hinges on.

Are you kidding me? using the touchscreen opens up a world of possibilities that exponentially add to the fun of things.

Because spinning the stylus around in circles or moving it quickly up and down is the fun part? Maybe if you're a three-year-old. I imagine most of the fun is the frantic pace with which these sabotages and repairs are performed, and trying to stay ahead of the curve.

I hate simulating easy, repetitive movements in games, because they are annoying. I hate having to spin an analog stick or a motion controller to simulate operating a valve or a screw, I hate having to rapidly mash buttons or waggle a motion controller to simulate lifting something heavy. These actions take no brain power, and no skill. They are just annoying. If the stylus controls are the main fun point here, then it is basically just a game of who can spin their hand faster and longer without it cramping up, and that is dumb. The fun here is most likely the challenge of outwitting your opponent. Unless you'd think it'd be more fun to play games like chess or checkers by simply banging your pieces against the board...

I actually think it would be more fun to play one of the two instruments left open by the two people playing Guitar than any of this Roadie crap.

LOLz alright, I get your point. But no need to be so defensive dude. I do agree the fun will probably come more from the timing of the attacks than actually "unscrewing the amp" with the stylus. But I still think this works better with the touchscreen for these specific tasks. How would you do it on a PSP, by button mashing or rotating the analog stick? They'll probably do a PSP version for GH6 with tasks that capitalize on the strength of the system. Either way, I'm not looking to get in a fight, to each his own.

Sorry dude, I've just been playing a lot of RE5 lately and the stupid "immersive" contextual controls drive me insane (i.e. analog stick spinning). Guess I vented a little bit in response.

Thanks charlie. Apparently most people here like doing dumb thumb circles. No wonder the Wii does so well, 'cause I'm guessing that most of those downvotes came from the NDF. I don't see why expanding functionality for other platforms is frowned upon.

So you gotta sit there with 4 friends, two need a DS and then transfer the songs and start the game, probably put in a shitton of friendscodes or something for it all to work and then you ha...zZzzzZzzzzzZzzzZzzzzZzZzzZZzZ.

where do friend codes factor into this? If you're going to troll, at least use something that is in some way relevant to the point you're trolling.

No, it should be fairly easy to set up. The most difficult part is finding two friends with DS's who would rather play the stupid mini-game than participate in the full version.

Why would you need friend codes when this is done in a local setting? All 4 people will be in the room together. Just a simple case of both of the DS downloading information from the Wii that had the GH5 game running.

Hence the "or something". You're going to have to set it up one way or another, and it's probably a ton more effort then it's worth.

Strategy: Get Roadie A to sabotage Guitar Player B. Give Roadie B a beer and a five dollar bill to sit on his thumbs.

As an ex-roadie, I will say that sabotaging with another band's equipment is more work than any roadie would be willing to do.

I can see it now....

Kid A: "Oh cool, are you guys playing the new Guitar Hero?"
Kid B: "You bet. Want in?"
Kid A: "Sure. I'll play vocals!"
Kid B: "Actually...take my DS and be a roadie."
Kid A: "A roadie?"
Kid B: "Yeah, while Kid C and I play our instruments and pretend to be rockstars you can Kid D can sit here and pretend to hook up wires and put out fires."
Kid A: "Haha. No."

Am I missing something? Isn't this Guitar Hero 5, not World Tour? So aren't the only instruments open the guitars? So if you happen to have four or more friends at your house having fun and you decide to play Guitar Hero 5 versus mode, two more people have something to do besides watch?

Seems like a good idea to me. Nothing earth shattering, but it looks like a fun little bonus.

Both Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero are full-band titles.

Though I can understand the confusion, as there was no Guitar Hero 4, and Band Hero would suggest that they're splitting the brand. But that is not the case.

Consider this Guitar Hero World Tour 2, though I don't know what that would make Band Hero.

Really? I'm the one that has to make this joke?

Guitar Hero 6 Features 'Groupie Battle' mode for the Wii. First one to take care of their band member wins! Featuring five different Wii shaking minigames! Grab hold of those Wii's! It's time for a Groupie Battle!

So they're actually TRYING to make the Wii version stand out? That's kinda refreshing for the Wii owners. At least they aren't just doing a half-assed port. And yeah, this actually looks fun!

But I don't think it should be downloaded EVERY TIME you wanna use the roadie battle app. I mean DS download play is fine for DS lite users, but DSi users could easily get an advantage with this.

Really activision?? REALLY??? You make the Wii and DS versions stick out by adding minigames? I have a minigame when this comes out, where I go to a store and not buy it.

EXACTLY. Follow some bumfuck band that doesn't even need it because their instruments already sound like they're on fire. They will pay you BIG time.
