Incoming Xbox Deals of the Week: Lost and Damned, Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2

How often is the Xbox Live Deal of the Week actually exciting? Not this week, at least, but it will be this month! On August 24, Microsoft will offer something pretty tempting: Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned for 1200

($15), 5 bucks off the normal asking price for the Grand Theft Auto IV expansion.

If you're the guy who bought GTA IV on 360 but hasn't picked this up yet -- and you don't want to wait for Episodes from Liberty City -- now's a great time to pick up a new set of missions to give up on halfway through the game, in favor of just doing awesome bike jumps.

The announcement also reveals that a deal for Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2 is incoming, so ... you know, don't buy it yet. Also, a Halo 3 Dashboard theme that you really don't need to buy ever.

I just played the 2 Penny Arcade games last week. I hope this price drop will be followed by news of part 3.

Lost and the Damned is way better than the actual original GTA4. So good news, everyone!

I though I was the only one that felt that way.

I think it literally is better than the original GTA IV in terms of characters, stories, mission variety, weapons, etc.

Thought I was crazy at first especially since I read a review from a major site which I can't remember saying that the characters and story were totally sub-par compared to the original GTA IV.

The thing is, GTA4 was weighed down by a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Plotlines that went nowhere, forgettable characters that just died without doing anything significant, etc. In LatD, though, pretty much all the characters really mattered, all of the missions contributed to the story in a major way. The dynamics of actually making you prefer using a bike was also a great idea. The turf wars and races were more fun than the lame minigames in the core game.

Overall it was just far better and I hope Gay Tony is the same way.

Also, to people on the fence, LatD is definitely worth 20 dollars, and especially 15. It's not just a few missions, which is what I think people see it as, it's really a full-fledged expansion. Plus riding in formation with a gang while Highway Star is on the radio is just the best.

Me too. I'm not interested in buying it for that price.

See and I'm the guy that did, which kind of pisses me off. Not because this here is 5 bucks cheaper, but I would've rather waited for the disc-based version.

My LCD has a hard time with gta at only 60hz. It blurs badly during nightime, so haven't played in a while. It's weird because that's the only thing my tv has problems with.

Honestly, who buys dashboard themes/gamer pics?

I wish I could use my superpower in the face of the person who thought it'd be good to charge for themes.

Lost and Damned was really really good. Even if you thought Niko's story was so-so you should pick this up. There's a lot less worrying about personal relationships with your buddy's and way more kicking ass. Sweet updated soundtrack too. Oh and the bikes are way easier to control and stay on than they were originally.

Lost and Damned is still worth the $20 price tag. It's better than most $60 titles :P

I absolutely agree.

It could have been released as its own full retail game for $60 (except for the fact that people simply expect 60 hours of gameplay from a GTA game).

these are great deals compared to this weeks crap FIFA 09 deal of the week.

TLAD is the best DLC I have purchased in the last 2 years - hands down.

I'll buy it if and when it ever makes it to the PS3

Why purchase the TLAD DLC if it's just gonna come out on disc with the Ballad of Gay Tony in October in a package called Episodes from Liberty City?

It'd be cheaper to wait and get both on a retail disc... don't feed the DLC beast!

And you just know that the price is going to drop after around three months. This isn't much of a deal if you can see the angles.

I bought TLAD two days ago. It's a great game, having it as the DOTW makes me go insane.

Where are their helmets?

Never got even half way thru GAT4. So meh....I'll skip.

Still a rip-off. $10 and I'm there.
