Hehe pretty good stuff. The credits are pretty funny too. There's a guy playing as a security guard (in the credits) but no security guards were in the show.

They better be working on some type of advanced GGPO netcode.... I would love to see them get MK back to a series people respected. Besides MK4 the only other 3D MK to be good was the one where Frost was first introduced. That one only needed more fatalities (plus brutality, friendship, etc) for everyone and it would have been golden. And now is a good as of time as any to make a new Shaolin Monks game. You can swear most developers this gen has fallen completely off of its trolly. They will produce and release sh!t in a heart beat, and have the power to make successful titles right at their finger tips... ie MK vs DC!

As much as I dislike the fact that Activision likes to rip people off, I refuse to sign it, because they still bring great games to the market.

Activision doesn't bring the great games, the developers do. I'm sure any other publisher would sign on any guitar hero, call of duty, or any of those in a second.

The only revolution I want mortal combat to bring about is one where the game doesn't suck...Drop, the adventure mode, the Kart racing, i don't know what they could do about the story but that's crap...

The future is now! Soon every American home will integrate their television, phone and computer. You'll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel, or watch female wrestling on another. You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with a friend from Vietnam. There's no end to the possibilities!

Maybe they will actually release the foundation of a good game and then refuse to take care of it with *confirmed* content.

Oh wait, nevermind, they did that last time.

I hope this doesn't mean a new gimmicky game like the last one. MK needs to sort out a couple basic things to get back into fighting game stardom: one, to bring back the gore; lots of current-gen games put MK's blood to shame, and that's...well, a shame for a series first known for its violence. Two, reboot the franchise in some way: I believe familiar gameplay with a facelift ala SF4 would be a hit for one (Maybe MK2 or Trilogy gameplay with 3D graphics), and fewer, but more refined characters would make for a more unique feel and a less convoluted story element. Armaggedon suffered because of this, but MKvsDCU's story mode was pretty likeable - besides the craziness of it all. I know the plot isn't the most important thing to care for in a fighting game, but I always enjoy some character interaction, background story, etc. Three, the online component they mention. Personally, I wouldn't care less about online fighting (I'm more of a local multiplayer kinda guy) but I do accept a robust online experience is a vital aspect for a game nowadays.

Oh, but there's something I've always loved about the newer MKs (except for MKvsDCU), and that is the TONS of unlockable stuff they add. I remember playing Deception for weeks just to unlock everything. Those were sweet days.

PS: I'm glad Boon's team survived the whole Midway wreckage thingy. Living to see another MK game is a great thing in my book.

Hah, MK didnt have any revolutionizing ideas, they just said it so you guys could comment on what it could possibly be then steal all the good ideas.

... Well least if any game would want to be good its what theyd do... Actually listen to there customers.

Just like COD6 team said they did.
And look how badass 4 was.

Am I the only one thinking cross-play between Xbox and PS3 is not only a cool idea but also suitable to this "revolution" marketing garble.

No, it wouldnt work.
XBL is a paid feature and PS online is not.
And PS3 is to easily hacked online, just youtube PS3 hacks for online play and see what im talking about.
I also just think in general it would not work, at least not well.
And if they were going to cross platform how would friends work? How would you play a PS3 buddy Micro def wouldnt change there whole dashboard just to add a PS3 person, and vice versa, so how would you play someone you wanted to?

Eh either way I dont see it happening least not a game as meaningless as MK compared to other titles. Seems like games that are major on both consoles would get that long before something like a fighting game. Such as COD or Grand Theft Auto stuff like that.

I'm down for the PowerStone comment, but I'm thinking for the online component to be revolutionary for a fighting game might be something like this:

Imagine Def Jam: Vendetta where the crowd is able to grab the fighters, but only the crowd is not controlled by the computer but by actual people waiting in line to fight. When someone loses in the fight, someone else from the crowd steps in to take his place. Basically ends up being a 1vs1 or 2vs2 (or whatever) "tag" type system.

Or imagine an open-ended world, like GTA but on a much smaller scale, where you can see multiple crowds of people fighting and all you have to do to join the fight is walk into the crowd. Walking into the crowd enters you into the fighting queue for the next fight.

It could possibly even have a slight MMO aspect where you can meet trainers that teach you new moves/fighting styles that you can mix and combine to create your own. Something kinda like what they did in Armageddon. Maybe you can even learn new fatalities and you can choose which one to have active.

All I know is that as much as I love fighting games, things do need to change in them to warrant a $60 dollar purchase.

MK Armageddon is THE best Mortal Kombat game EVER. The purists might get all rowdy, but it's true. Ridiculously huge character selection and amazingly responsive controls. Love that game. Would've been nice to have individual fatalities though.

Jezz just go back to the original Mortal Kombat1 idea that game was fun to play the story etc!!..If they can bring back the original Idea from MK-1-2 back this game will rule all fighting games right now that are out!.. Sorry but SF 4 is nothing new..=( God I miss Killer Instinct and the Real fighting Arcade games that ruled in the 80's to late 90's!!...Is this Genre due back for a big come back now?..I think yes!!...........................
