Yay! This is good for those people who only want one certain game on PSN! If only they would stop charging tax...

wait a minute, are we taxed twice with these cards? like when i go buy a card, do i need to pay tax, as well as pay tax on the PSN store? (Canada)

if so, that's kind of a rip off, as you wouldn't have enough to buy anything that's 9.99 in the store... which seems to be a common price point.

Woohoo they used my tip! Anyway, there is the issue of not being able to buy a $9.99 game because of the tax. A little birdie told me if you take your ps3 on a roadtrip (roadtrip!!) to NH or CT for the weekend and change your address, you won't be charged a dime! Of course the commute and the time off work is a killer, so I hear if you Google NH or CT and find a suitable zipcode, that'll work too. Of course, its all innuendo and I don't condone this type of behavior. But, in the interests of scientific research...?

ive had my psn for about 2years and ive purchased DLC and PSNgames since an i havent been taxed. but i have noticed that when my sister made a psn last december that she is charged a 10 cent tax on anything she purchases (obviously no tax on free items). so i believe that if you have had your psn before last year lets just say before May2008 you shouldnt be taxed

Yeah, Canadians have to pay tax on their store purchases. No tax in the US, BUT, if you buy one of the cards you'll pay tax on the card itself (at least that's what I experienced in California).

Same here, in NJ, get taxed 7%. Sure it's not a lot at all and I don't mind paying 7 extra cents at all, but that's if I WAS paying only 7 cents, I usually have to buy PSN money with credit at $5 denominations, so I'm really going to always have around $4 stashed in PSN for an unnecessary reason. Ridiculous, Sony should stop screwing customers over like this.

My US PSN address is an aunt's house in Washington State (in case I get schwag and she can send it over here), I got taxed for purchases.

Oddly, it used to be another relative's house in California and it didn't get taxed then.

i honestly cant say im interested in buying HOME stuff at all. mostly a waste of money, and theres a lot that should be free. same with themes, 2 bucks for a picture and decent looking icons. a pictures a picture, one easily obtained by going on a computer and moving the picture with a thumb drive. but hey, thats just me

If you want a good site to buy these cards try maximuscards.com I've used them often and they've worked out pretty well, only had a mishap once and I caused the problem but it was still handled within the hour.

Also, thank god for these not because they're cheap but w/the freaking tax on the PSN it's really annoying when you're 40 cents short of being able to get 2 games over one, happens often ._.

Also for those wondering the cards cost 24.95 for the 20$ and 57.95 for the 50. I believe it's worth it for the safety they traffic through googlecheckout or paypal whichever works better and you get your code instantaneously. They also have a whole bunch of other cards too, it's pretty cool. I remember thinking shit yeah when I found these cause I wanted some PSN games but couldn't find them being sold, so yeah I've been a proud customer now and have 13 games in total from PSN thanks to them =p

They're pretty nice they even gave me a reference link to earn points and stuff but I totally lost it lol

Cashier: Alright, how much did you want to make it for?
Customer: $31.89 please.
Cashier: Ummm...ok? .....That'll be $31.89
Customer: Crap....I'm missing a penny....better make it $31.88 (god I hope it's enough for that game and dlc I've been wanting)
Cashier: O.k. all set. Have a nice day (weirdo)

You can only add funds in increments of $5, $10, $25, and $50. No exact change.

Pdriver

I don't know if it's different outside the US, but that's false here. In the US store you have to add a minimum of $5, but it can be exact change for anything higher than that. As a result, my PSN wallet almost always has a balance of $0.00.

Believe it or not. I'm not sure if you are a new PS3 owner or not but. Sony used to have custom amounts. Say if I had 0.00 in my wallet and the item I was going to buy was 1.99 I would check out and my wallet will have exactly 1.99.

Then they took it out now you can only select incremental amounts to add to your wallet. Now when I go to pay for a 1.99 item I check out and I can only choose to add 5,10,20 dollars etc.

Glad there's more choice. I need about $8 more to get Fate/Unlimited Codes & this is perfect. Now I don't need to spend $20, though I do like having spare money on my account.

Nice to see they're offering more options. Now Nintendo needs to do this.

I get taxed 23 cents. I wish Sony would take into consideration the poor souls that do get taxed. It would be nice if they offered cards with 5 as the second digit like a $15 card and a $25 card. I would gladly spend an extra $5 if it means I don't have to look at $9.77 in my wallet taunting me because I can't spend it on the games I want to spend it on.

playstation network cards are basically cards with passwords that allot certian monetary value to your playstation network account. currently $20 and $50 dollar cards exist and even then only in so many parts of the world.

it's supposedly safer than using a credit card and/or is kid friendly as kids can buy them.
