Also, John, stop posting. You say the same thing every time. Say it once and then shut the fuck up.

I love the nonstop Guitar Hero bashing. Just come out and say "I'm a hater and I don't actually judge the game quality by each title,I just hate on anything with the name Guitar Hero on the box."

People bitched you couldn't import songs and now that you can,you bitch about how you have to do it. If the new Guitar Hero let you import every song and past DLC onto your system for free, you'd still manage to find something to bitch about because it's Activision.

Guitar Hero 5 has a sweet looking track list, but fuck good songs,it's all about the name on the box.

The fanboys here still bitched about Activision giving away free copies of GH: Van Halen to anyone who purchases GH5. They are never satisfied.

I hope my "Get GH5, rent Smash Hits, import songs, don't waste money" scheme will still work..

It might. Smash Hits didn't look impressive at all, outside its awesome setlist, so you might have people that traded it in within a few weeks, long before this announcement hit.

er....paying to re-license tracks?

Actiivision can fuck right off. COD5 being highly priced is one thing and now this.
The head of the company almost made 15 million dollars last year and we wonder how.

Did both activision and MS go to the same school of economics?

When's the next rockband out? They didn't charge for tracks from RB1.

Actually, they DID charge for tracks from RB1. Five bucks, to be exact.

No, they charged you to RE-LICENSE the tracks you were supposed to OWN in RB1.

people who didn't buy RB1 then just took songs off it stole them.

It's like buying a cd, ripping the songs to MP3 then returning the CD.

Thats exactly how fanboyism works, They bitch, you worship.

Charging for re-licensing tracks is a joke. RB didn't do it and what with Activisions 1 billion dollar profits I suspect they could take the hit?

I'm bitching purely on price as this is a constant thing with Activision.

Thats 2 games from them this finacial year that i'll be giving my money to verbatim rather than to the company itself. Its a shame but screw them, I like their games, I dislike their policies.

I for a fact know they charged for importing in the songs from RB1. I paid the $5.00 fee! Please stop pumping mis-information.

And I am GLAD I am not like some fanboys on these sites. I like both Rock Band and Guitar WT-style games, and find strength and weaknesses in both.

I'm looking forward to this feature and hope GH: Metallica and GH: Van Halen follow suit with the importing into GH5. Metallica has the code so I guess its just a matter of working out the re-licensing.

Good thing I forgot to put the Smash Hits manual back in the Blockbuster case when I rented it :) (Nobody has the code because I took it from the original game case at BB and put it in the BB rental case when I rented it)

I thought I was going to have to re-rent it to export. Now, I can take out the booklet in my World Tour Case and keep it!

This will then be my SECOND time trading in WT.

They did but didn't.

There was something on the marketplace for 5 bucks but printed on the back page of the manual of RB2 was a code to redeem it completely free. I'm not sure if this was a global thing but definitely in Europe as I have it infront of me now (purely as I was just playing it).

That code was for 22 free crappy songs that were supposed to be onn the disc but weren't completed on time.

they were mostly unknown (at least to me) artists. you stilll had to pay $5 for the transfer, at least on 360

I have a sneaking suspicion that "Beat It" won't be able to be imported. Just, with the licensing fees involved and the fact that the song now belongs to the estate of MJ, and I don't even know if anyone knows who's in charge of that. And that's my favorite song to play with a full band in WT. We'll see I guess, but I suppose I'll hang onto my copy of WT for the time being.

BS so your telling me here in aus where there are download limits i have to use my download limit have my legit copy of the game and pay a liscensing fee just to play the songs i already OWN

Well as pissed as i am sign me up at least your releaseing in australia unlike that other music Game that took well over a year to release the first one

just wish metallica and GH3 were included in that some of the songs i wanted to play werent on the smash hits Disc

be nice if they even just released all the old games songs as DLC anyway only thing RB really seems to have the upper hand on to me since its easier and i dont give a stuff what the menus are like its all about the tunes

You don't OWN the songs. you own a license to play along to them on plastic instruments on one game.

In order to play along to them on plastic instruments on a new game, the copyright holders deserve to be payed for a new use of their material.

after all, your original game hasn't stopped working has it? No, you are simply wanting to play it in a new way, well royalties don't work like that.

Yep, I get the message :P

I was wrong, Fully admit it. Forgot the code was for the 22 tracks and not the import solution. My bad.

If Activsion follow the same path then that'd be fine then, I love paying money for stuff I've already paid for :) (thats a knock at both activision and EA)

I'm sticking with my COD5 statement though, verb are getting my money there until it comes down from its silly price.

Seriously I cant believe all the pathetic and ignorants posts here... AGAIN!

Activision announces songs importation for GH5 and you still all complain! Easy to see your all just Harmonix bitches! Oh! Activision is run by the devil! Harmonix is owned by MTV Games which is owned by Viacom, one of the biggest conglomerate in the States!

Harmonix is just as bad as them, they are doing it for the money. The only reason there is no Rock Band 3 is because the second one didn't sell! Video game is a business, and a HUGE business!

For us the consummer, its only for the best that there is competition! Now Activision are actually listening to fans (and haters) and adding more value to their GH game.

In the end its extemely simple...
if you dont like it then DONT BUY IT!
