Actor's resume lists Rocksteady-developed 'Hitman5'

Both of Rocksteady's other games, Urban Chaos: Riot Response and Batman: Arkham Asylum, have been for publisher (and partial owner) Eidos, so it isn't much of a stretch to believe that the developer would get a crack at a major Eidos property like Hitman. Presumably, series developer IO Interactive has its hands full with the Kane & Lynch sequel and Mini Ninjas.
What's harder to believe is that the same Mark Sloan is responsible for the "Soft Mark," "Pushy Mark," "Chatty Mark," and "Menacing Mark" audio performances in the resume. Such range!
[Thanks, Garret!]

For the love of god I hope so. Rocksteady managed to sell me with just the demo for Batman, and that series really needed a reboot. I hope these people get some more attention in the future, it's obvious they deserve it.

Was never that big a Hitman fan. Only played a bit of 1. If its even 1/10th of the greatness that is Batman:AA, it will be good.

You should play blood money. The ideas behind the hitman games were real god, but the execution was best for blood money (Despite some flaws still)

Great news I guess.

Wish I was as enthusiastic as you.

I love the Hitman series.
Good to hear these guys might be getting a shot at it.
IO can shove Kane and Lynch up their bums for all I care.

I didn't know Eidos is releasing Batman: Arkham Asylum. Since Square Enix owns Eidos now, does that mean Batman: Arkham Asylum is now technically a Square Enix game? I like the sound of that. :)

It's appropriate, considering how Batman's costume has tons zippers. Fits in with their other character designs.
RogueJedi86 @ Aug 11th 2009 6:19PM
Plus Kefka(FFVI) does look a bit like The Joker. :)
Stevetrop @ Aug 11th 2009 6:23PM
No.
Square Enix is only publishing it for the EU release.

@bVork
No he doesn't, he actually looks like a man.

Ah good, Hitman needs a kick up the arse (there's a British word for you).
Serio @ Aug 11th 2009 6:14PM
I already see this ending up to Hitman fans like Fallout 3 did to Fallout fans.
RogueJedi86 @ Aug 11th 2009 6:21PM
Is that good or bad?

Except the most recent Hitman games have been okay, not great. Blood Money was disappointing in its lack of innovation and formulaic nature, and Contracts, though creative, didn't have a cohesive plot of any sort.
The franchise is ripe for a reboot, and I for one can't think of anyone better than Rocksteady. The Batman demo was intensely awesome, and they've proven they can do stealth combat extremely well.
And unlike Bethesda, Rocksteady appears to be able to make a game run faster than 20fps on a 360 that doesn't crash and/or glitch all the time.
UK31337 @ Aug 11th 2009 6:24PM
I was just thinking about this the other day as well, how it was announced ages ago but kept quiet since.
A proper next-gen Hitman from the ground up should be good instead of the PS2/Xbox version of Blood Money being shoehorned onto the 360. The PS2 version was better than the 360 version, at least in my opinion.
CH3BURASHKA @ Aug 11th 2009 7:03PM
This is, in my opinion, the thing that will save Hitman. I hated the stiffness and incredibly 'off', unnatural movement of the Hitman games. They were so methodical that it reflected in the actual controls; he was pretty much a robot. Perhaps Rockstar can make Hitman suave, cool and smooth.
Breakerchase @ Aug 11th 2009 7:54PM
Screw Hitman, I want my Freedom Fighters sequel.
Premature ejaculation man @ Aug 11th 2009 9:45PM
I love the concepts in Hitman. All they need is someone to execute them better. I can't wait.
Porker @ Aug 11th 2009 11:19PM
I have been waiting for a new Hitman game since, well, I finished Blood Money (one of the coolest endings I've seen in a while, though I guess that may not be saying much considering most game endings these days tend to suck). Surprised at the negative comments here toward BM, but to each their own I s'pose. It did have its flaws, but overall was a very memorable experience.
Anywho, this is great news.

Is this some sort of evil punishment to IO? First eidois forces IO to develop some crappy E rated game and now eidos steals their franchise.
