Even if you're experiencing some music game overload, you have to take notice of something like this: Those who buy Guitar Hero 5 during the month of September will be able to send away for a free copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen, which will be sent to them before it arrives in stores.
OK, it's not quite enough to cure our Beatlemania, but damn it if it doesn't make picking up GH5 considerably more appealing. [Update: This offer is good only in the USA.]

I'd have to say that this is actually almost worth it. Yeah, Van Halen will probably bomb, but GH5 isn't looking that bad to me and I'll shoot myself in the hand if I every say that about another GH game. Maybe it's the RB2 gameplay features it borrows... Still, I'd say this is probably a fair deal because not all the Van Halen songs are that bad... even if the best song on there is already on RB2.

Excellent bonus for those of us who were going to be picking up the game anyway. What a great deal.

You'll be able to get both games in the bargain bin for $19.99 just a few months after they launch. Resist.

As if GH5 didn't look awesome beforehand, they are giving away a free copy of the hardest guitar game ever released with it.
The only words to describe this insanity are: super-legit.

Hmm...song importing would be an option for this, I would think. Why offer a free game when you can't import the songs over?
Wait, what am I saying? It's a FREE FUCKING GAME! Sold!

This is a pretty clear sign that customer apathy is here for rock music games. You can almost smell the desperation on this offer. It smells like hairspray, cocaine and moldy cheese.

If you order through Amazon, you get a $5 credit for mp3s they sell, and a $10 coupon for a future game purchase. Two games for the price of one and $15 of other enticements. That seems a pretty good deal to me.

All of you guys making comments about switching discs are rediculous. You're saying things like "Oh yeah, you think I'm lazy cuz I would rather not switch discs, well you ipod users are lazy..nahh" You arn't lazy because you would RATHER not have to switch discs, but because that's the deal breaker for you. I'm not saying I don't have an Ipod enjoy the convienience that didn't stop me from listening to CDs and tapes before I had mp3s. If you have the option of both, then yeah, pick the easier one, but you don't have that option, did you just not listen to music until they made it in a format that you preferred? And as far as parties go, are your parties really that bad that people ae going to be disappointed just hanging out for 5 minutes to switch? IT'S FREE! buy GH5 and get 85 songs which is more than the beatles 45 songs, and still have more songs for your party without changing discs, then get Van Halen for FREE. It's really not that big a deal.
