Maybe cause Infamous is so boring? WAW>Infamous any day. I seriously think I was doing the same 5 missions over and over in Infamous.

MW2 is months away! why would you trade in WaW now? how will you get a CoD fix without it?

and no, COD4 doesn't count. the ones who like COD4 more than WaW are still playing it.

Maybe trade in inFamous when you're done with it? I mean, it's a single player game only so once you've played through it once or twice what's the point in keeping it? So, if you get the itch some time you can play it again? Yeah, we all know how that works, by the time that actually happens you'll be able to buy it back for $5, whereas you can trade it now for about $20.

@Reinvent

Strongly disagree with you there. inFamous was >never< and I mean never boring. The missions are not the same, but very similar. The storyline of inFamous makes me want to finish the whole game good and bad.

But on the other hand, if you're finished of inFamous there is nothing to do with it so....

Also about W@W, I'm not a FPS person or anything but isn't shooting enemies over and over again boring? Not that boring, but saying about inFamous doing the same missions all over again, it's very similar to what I'm saying about W@W here.

If I liked W@W though, I wouldn't trade in my copy because of the support it's getting at the moment. In fact I would trade inFamous first before W@W if I had to.

Out of my immediate need for convenience, I traded a few DS games in at Gamestop and picked up GTA - China Town Wars. Reaaaaaally didn't want to, but figured I'd give it a shot since people say it was decent and they didn't have TWEWY or Henry Hatsworth to pick up for my flight and vacation over the last week. It really kicks all sorts of ass and I'm blown away by how much I'm enjoying it, should be a nice treat for PSP owners when it finally ends up there.

I really got plan ahead on this stuff as it sounds like a good deal! :P

You probably have to trade in at least 20 games at $2 dollars each to reach $30 dollars. No matter what they always win. I can sell one used game for 15 on Ebay, maybe more. This deal isn't worth it. Especially when you consider that at one time you paid maybe $39, $49 or $59 for each game you're trading in. Ooooh $30 dollars for one game I'll get bored of in a week. No Amazon, you go take your little $30 dollar trade in deal and shove it straight up your ass!

I don't want to put anything up their ass in anger or anything, but looking closer the details are a little nebulous. Actually googling 'amazon trade values' you end up with an older 'stiq article that said their trade values lag behind Gamestops... http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/16/amazon-trade-in-values-lag-behind-gamestop/

Plus what with the waiting periods specified in the source, it sounds pretty meh.

I actually just did this trade-in deal. their trade values were better than Gamestop's values for the four games I traded in for a total of $65.50.

Zelda Twilight Princess Wii: Amazon: 16.50 Gamestop: 15.00
Fallout 3 Xbox 360: Amazon 24.00 Gamestop: 22.00
Zelda Phantom Hourglass: Amazon: 9.00 Gamestop: 8.00
GTA: Chinatown Wars: Amazon: 16.00 Gamestop: 15.00

Amazon Total: 95.50 Gamestop Total: 60.00

Gamewhatnow?

Zelda Twilight Princess Wii: Amazon: 16.50 Gamestop: 15.00 Future Shop: $37
Fallout 3 Xbox 360: Amazon 24.00 Gamestop: 22.00 Future Shop: $40

Add in New Super Mario DS for $25 and I got a cool $102 in trade last week, then proceeded to make an absolute killing on a reduced PS3 bundle.

Hollywood Video had a sale where used games $29.99 and under were only $5. I picked up a couple of the ones worth a higher trade in value and traded in 4 of them for $50 of credit. At the time I traded them in the promotion was a 50% off on any game coupon. I used the coupon for Rock Band Beatles Special Edition, which cut the price to $125, plus I had the $50 of trade in credit. I ended up getting the whole bundle for $75 + $20 spent on the used games to trade in, it was an awesome deal. Basically you just need to wait and see what kind of a deal Amazon puts up.

I used the trade in program on amazon as well and my three games were worth $50, gamestop offered $30

Amazon wins easily. especially when they sent me a coupon for half off of any game or peripheral for using the service, extra $32 or so, oh yeah!

@ Markez
Go to amazon.com and type in "trade in" in the search bar, then click on video games and you can find any game you want to know it's value. They are generally much better to marginally better than gamestop. Have fun never using gamestop again!

Most of those games trade for 3-4 bucks, even if you had 5 of the most premium games, they seem to go for 11-12 bucks which would mean 5 brand new games to get to the 60 bucks for the credit = 90 bucks, or sell them used on ebay for 30-40 apiece for 150-200 bucks...

The last Amazon trade in deal was better... Trade in $50 worth and get a coupon for 50% off a game or accessory... I traded in like 5 games and got $60... Used the coupon on CoD: MW2 Prestige edition. Total for the cost was ~$15... good deal :D

Some people used their 50% off on Beatles Rock Band with the full band kit...

I would've done that, but I got a great deal on all the games I traded. I just gave up all the games I beat, and now with the 120$, I'm gonna get Professor Layton 2, Scribblenauts, and probably COD MW2, borderlands or Halo ODST.

The 50% off thing woulda been good, but I usually don't buy the huge expensive packages.

I do have a few Wii games left over after I sold it. Maybe this might be the time to sell them, and a few DS games as well that I just don't care for.

Never used Amazon though, how does it work trading games in there?

It's no instant gratification but if you have the patience to wait a week and a half for your credit you can usually find some sweet promotions like this one. Wouldn't do it without the promotions though.

Same here. But then there are those games that you know you won't ever play again, or bought for cheap and didn't like. It's easy to let go of those games...

...except no one else wants to play them either.

Just trade at SwitchGames.com The only thing you'll pay is your shipping cost. I traded InFamous for Street Fighter 4 and just sent off Sonic's UGC for LittleBigPlanet. Seriously the best thing you an do with trading games.

Hmm could this article have mentioned you only get the deal if you trade in 60 dollars worth of stuff.. thats probably most of my collection at trade-in prices.... Kinda sucks.. I wish there was a scaling price.. like if you traded in 30 dollars worth of stuff you'd get 15 bucks or something...

This deal sucks more because they pay on avg with my quick look $15-$25 less per game then Future Shop, EB Games (Gamestop in the states I think) and BestBuy so you're $30 saving leaves you still getting less.

I don't get the whole mail-in to trade in thing. if you are going out of your way to ship something you may as well just sell it
