Yesterday was a long night of binge drinking, I don't think all my neurons are firing correctly yet. Damn you booze.

Haha yeah, but it's so much fun. Oh well, a night of drinking was worth it to make one jackass comment. :)

You have to add in parenthesis '(cannot do 4th grade mathematics)' to your username now.

THAT IS TO BE YOUR PUNISHMENT.

So I'm going to buy one of these bad boys solely for Scribblenauts (though I'll also look into Professor Layton and Drawn to Life), but should I really get this over the plain DS?

Well... the only advantage of the Lite over the DSi is the GBA port, so, if you already have a GBA or a Micro, then go for the DSi.

The DSi has bigger screens, one more level of brightness, a volume rocker (better than the slider), you can adjust the brightness while in game, the speakers are definitely better, the buttons are clickly now, the matte finish feels better, then you have the cameras with Facebook support, DSiWare...

Definitely a better purchase if this is your first DS system.

One way to think of it is an investment in the future of DSi-only software (because it sure isn't worth it now).

Alternatively, imagine the new version of the Game Boy Camera is available for $50, but the only way you can get it is a pack in with a DS. Also, it was a browser.

Just be ready to give up around 5-6 hours battery life with the DSi.

Does the DS really have that much longer of a battery life?

This news caught me by surprise. It certainly says something about the state of the inudstry... but what exactly, I'm not sure.

Yeeahh, I ended up selling my DSi(brand new) last week. $170 just isn't worth the added features. I still got my old DS Phat so I'm good. :D

Hm? Rich, I am not. Camera and voice recording's nice. DSiWare had nothing good, and even with the 1000 points I got free, still not worth it. As long as I can play Scribblenauts, I'm ok.

I have a DS lite I dont see the point in getting a DSi

Don't get one. It's not worth it. The camera is nice, but crappy quality. The voice recording is pretty good quality, but the max time is 10 seconds. You can make ringtones I figure though.

The DSiWare sucks. Nothing good really. I traded in my DS Lite for a DSi and ended up selling it in less than a week. Still have my DS Phat though.

How many hardware tweaks are allowed before it starts becoming a new platform? The DSi could have been the DS2, and had more power, but Nintendo (and Sony, with the PSP Go) had to stop halfway. Why, Nintendo? You would make just as much, if not more, money. I, for example, am afraid to keep buying incremental expanses on current hardware because with my luck, I'll buy one, then the DS2 will come out. Plus, I can't justify tiny tweaks totaling to more than what they are worth. I wish I could just mod my DS, ala' PC.

I think I just answered my own question.

The one thing I HATE about this generation of consoles more than anything is this incremental upgrade/different tiers crap. Sets a baaaad precedent for the future, seeing as it's been fairly successful.

The success of the 360 is the worst of the dangerous precedents. Expect to pay extra for a hard disk, wireless internet, controller charge kits and online service for each and every console from here on out.

Just because something has a lot of support doesn't mean it's good.

i think the next two years of Nintendo would be more tough work wise and if it works harder then it will easily grab the market by its great achievements like it has done in the past near 2001.................
