It reminded me of District 9 because it has a similar fucking title.

Does the use of the word 'fuck' make me sound cool and edgy like you? Or just needlessly aggressive?

honestly, it took me quite a while before I realized they weren't the same. I saw "Section 8" and was like "It'll suck because it's a movie game." Until just now. So thank you.

Similar titles don't make similar products. Both Section 8 and District 9 look awesome.

"Fuck" primarily serves as emphasis to my confusion and your assertiveness but doesnt make your comparison any less stupid. And levi, come on really? Looking at any single thing from this game makes it very clear this is nothing to do with District 9.

Dude, I've seen a commercial for the movie and a trailer for this, and I don't remember either very well. The titles are extremely similar. It's an easy mistake to make when you aren't following both titles very closely at all.

Wow, i was optimisitc that it might actually be a good story until i realized that it's basically KZ2. Come on, people go to space, evolve, come back and try to kill us? That's the fucking Helghan! Also id have a lot more faith even with that if the main character's name wasnt Alex Ford and he had hair. Gameplay and graphics still look great though, still really excited

well, it wasn't really anything like WWII... but I did hear it was pretty much a sci-fi version of some other war? Where are they from again? Perhaps it was a video game retelling of a local war?

Do you mean KZ2 or this Levi? Because the Helghast were really just space Nazis only the Swastika was more like a cross. Cant think of any war this resembles though

I was replying to Moptimus' WWII in space comment. Other than the behavior of the Helghast, there is nothing about the storyline in the Killzone universe that resembles WWII. the Helghast were controlling a planet that was being used as a
trade center, and taxing the living crap out of anyone that went through their jurisdiction. This was the halfway point between Earth and the new planet, I think Killzone 1 took place on. So they ceceded from the rest of the humans and started developing their own army to launch a revolution. Pretty sure that was KZ1. They lost, were banished out of space and onto this crappy planet, and the humans went in to stop the development of their army in KZ2.

None of this is anything like WWII. Nazis were trying to dominate the world via massive extinction of every human unlike themselves. This is not at all what happened in KZ2. The story in Killzone is a back and forth war of power between two forces, driven much by tyranny. It is a whole hell of a lot closer to the American revolution.

I was reading comments one time a while back, and I can't remember where Guerilla Games is located, but the commentor was very confident that the story of KZ2 was a sci-fi retelling of a revolution that occurred in their country. Gotta take what random things people day on the Internet with a grain of salt of course, but it certainly isn't like WWII.

Honestly, I was never a Halo fan, because I felt a bit let down after seeing the awesome trailers for it (when it was originally supposed to be a PC game, before XBox even existed!), but this game looks like it could be what I wanted Halo to be. It does look pretty Halo-esque, and I don't want to call it a ripoff, but it's hardto escape the comparison. It does look like a lot more fun though.

I dont see what makes it so similar to Halo rather than any other sci fi fps other than the color, in fact like people have mentioned in other posts about this game it's much closer to tribes if anything. I really cant see any similarities between this and Halo outside of the bright colorfullness, and that's really only halo 3, the other ones were sort of drab

The art style. Like, there's Mass Effect sci-fi, which this doesn't resemble as much, for example... Then there's Halo sci-fi, which isnt really like Star Wars sci-fi... I mean, these all have similarities, some of them have a lot of similarities, but it's all about presentation, an this game struck me as Halo-esque when I first saw it. It's probably the style of the soldier dudes you play as.

I totally agree on the Tribes comparison after looking at it again though.

"You don't get into Section 8 easily. It's a very rigorous selection project. Nobody is just picked to go into the armor suits. The guys in Section 8, they're gonna do the job and a lot of times they'll lose their lives doing so."

How good can they be if they end up dying most of the time?

The story behind Section 8: The Government ended the Housing Project project to disperse the criminal elements that had taken advantage of the program. Section 8 is a reimbursement program where the Government submits vouchers to the property management to allow reduced rent for those whose income qualifies. This distributes lower income families into other neighborhoods. This helps the low income families feel less ostracized by society and provides better resources/living conditions/safety as well as scattering the criminal element to reduce that elements impact. Now this would be a cool game!

at least that's what I know about it.
Most people never heard of the military designation of 'Section 8' until the blurb associated with this game. I know I haven't.

Am I the only one that read "Arm of Onion (not the good guys)"?

Took me 3 tries to figure out that it was Orion. Then it made much more sense.

I mean, onions are lethal (to the eyes), but come on.
