Well I look forward to seeing more additions and maybe Microsoft stabilizing a reasonable price point...

Avatar items should be free to the people who paid the annual Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Ps3 owners...

Is the junk in Home this expensive?
Or do you feel it to be overpriced as well?
Or which do you feel to be more reasonable, price wise? Xbox360 avatar marketplace or Ps3 Home?

I have to admit in LBP, some costumes are a bit overpriced. I only bought one costume pack and that is it. If the costume packs were a dollar I would get almost every costume pack because I just love LBP.

Home...I bought two homes and some accessories. You'll get bored of them in a while unless you have friends visiting you there. But then it gets boring in like half an hour. Sony needs to put more interaction with the stuff you buy. Like a TV that you can stream shows and stuff. If that happens, I'll be using Home more and more.

I haven't been on Home for 2 months now, so I don't know how much it changed there. But I know for sure, a piece of clothing or accessory isn't more than $2. If I had an Xbox, I would want that Star Wars lightsaber, but it's just too expensive. Come on, 400 points or that piece of accessory that does absolutely F all? You know what I can do with 400 points elsewhere in Live?

Sorry if I'm becoming onesided here but it's ridiculous for Microsoft to do...cut it to 100 points on that Microsoft then many people will buy it.

I have a feeling that, sadly, lots of people are gonna buy it at 400MSP which is the problem. It'll never become cheaper that way.

I have a few issues with this new Avatar Marketplace:

1. Doesn't seem to be a way for me to download content for my wife's Avatar through my gold account. (Her's is gold too, but i have all the MS points on my account). Does this mean that she has to put in a separate credit card or purchase a points card and then put them on her account just so she can get new items? We should be able to share these items just like she can play arcade games i've purchased. (Men avatars should be able to browse/purchase Women avatar items and share them with other accounts on the same machine).

2. I just bought a lightsaber for my avatar. I logged in with my wife's gold account to see if she can use it too. She cant. Why can she play Arcade games that have been purchased by my gold account but cant use/wear any Avatar Marketplace items (even if they are unisex items)

This seems REALLY broken. There's no way im going to spend 800 MS Points JUST so both of us can have the light saber, or any other item for that matter.

Consider my diving into the Avatar Marketplace halted until these issues are fixed. I wont be buying another thing no matter what. Why lock down things like this? Its absolutely insane to do such a thing. Why not lock down arcade games too if youre going to lock down Avatar Marketplace items!?!?!?

I wholeheartedly agree.

it seems as though most avatar items have a male and female version.

so if you buy one it SHOULD unlock both, imho.

My husband bought one of the hats and I ... broke down and purchased a different hat for myself. (I didn't mean to... It just happened... I was updating some things on my avatar.. and that dang marketplace was right there... waiting to be clicked)

But it REALLY would be awesome if we could access what each other purchased on the same box.

Damnations, being a gaming couple is expensive. Some people think about how awesome it would be to date/marry a gamer but you practically have to buy two of freaking EVERYTHING! Gears 2 x2, Halo 3 x2, Orange box x2, PSU x2, Xbox Gold x2... and on and on ... that junk adds up... except the arcade work around*.

(*which always seems to benefit me... since I oh-so-slyly make him purchase the XBLA games on the main 360 with his account.. then when we both play he gets to play on the smaller tv. lol. dirty.. I know. but you do what you gotta do)

But I guess the trade off is that no ones bitching at you for how much time you spend playing. :)

It looks like that list only contains items for male avatars. What about the female-exclusive items?

The props are garbage, the outfits overpriced. I suggest just buying one outfit that you would wear, and stick to it.

Am I the only one who thinks "Reccionista" fashion is both mildly offensive and hilarious?

@Dark Wayne
how is 'recessionista' offensive? i though the branding was rather clever especially considering the throwback reference and todays economic climate.

@Joystiq/Dustin

please update this feature with new content regularly. sorting thru the avatar marketplace everyday with no way to tell which areas might have new added content is tedious.

until they add stars around new items like the editor ill be checking joystiq for my marketplace updates. if this feature is updated regularly.

Props are fun or cute or whatever, but there's no way in Hell I'll pay ACTUAL money for something like that.

I bought the steampunk goggles, because I have a weakness for steampunk & goggles.

But that is probably the only thing I'll buy. Hopefully.

I do like this stuff, but not enough to pay for it. I'll probably wait to see if there are avatar prizes available in Halo 3: ODST, but if not, I just might have to give in and get a prop.

Wow. 160 points for some pants? I was expecting to see 10 and 20 point items, not 80 and 160. Holy crap.

I have a fundemental problem paying real money for avatar clothing and props. DLC is at least content that provides entertainment value; a new level to a game; new cars for a track. But even then, the content better scream value. We all have differing views of what that means. For me, it is about not paying $3-5 for a T-Shirt or lightsaber for my little avatar. You want to give me one for watching an add or playing a demo, or getting some in game acheivement, I will give thanks. Just don't expect me to pay for it.

I bought the COG outfit because when I got the points to get Dark Corners for Gears 2 I accidentally bought 2000, thinking that it cost 1800 :( I rarely play anything else online so I didn't see the point in paying for more DLC for something like CoD 4/5, and I've got all the Rock Band DLC that I like.
