Wolfenstein RPG escapes onto the iPhone
After a premature release on the App Store back in May, Wolfenstein RPG is now officially available for iPhone/iPod Touch. TouchArcade reports the release of the game was held off because of possible customer confusion with Wolfenstein 3D, which was released a little while back.
Wolfenstein RPG on iPhone features improved graphics from its original mobile incarnation, and all that turn-based Nazi killin' can be yours for $5.

A wolfenstein RPG seems rather weird. I wonder what else do they have up their sleeves. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Doom RTS pop up on there.

I thought there was one. Correct me if I'm wrong.
These kind of games remind me of an old turn based word puzzle game on the 200LX calculator/hand held computer. I know it's old but it still reminds of it (though these have graphics and fighting.)

I played a doom roguelike. It was awesome.

Indeed it looks like a total bore.

It's actually a really good game.

That was a video from May, apparently it was an early build and it plays much better.

Argh. When's generation 3 iPod Touch going to be announced? Waiting for it before I join this whole iPod bandwagon all the hipsters have been raving bout.

Probably next month, as that is when the 1st and 2nd generations of Ipod Touches came out, all three Iphones have come out in June.
This may be the first Apple product I ever puchase, :shudder:.

No it does not suck. It's an RPG and not a shooter, that's why it looks boring in this movie but actually it's great!

I can FINALLY get a B.J. on my iPhone.

Great game just like Doom RPG was. I am stuck though, can anyone tell me how to get across the gap with the spikes at the bottom? This is in the first outdoor level after the darkness, in a building. There is a chicken machine right next to it and a plank that lets you walk out of the pit, but back to the side you started on. Thanks in advance.

It's not a bad game. I played it for about 20 or so minutes last night and thought it was pretty fun. It feels a lot like Wolfenstein 3D but with improved graphics and sounds.
Professor Lario @ Aug 12th 2009 10:57AM
Hey C.P. - is it turn based or does it run on action points or some such thing?
Levi @ Aug 12th 2009 11:40AM
I've been waiting for this one, but more so for Doom RPG. Carmack said it was coming, and this release makes me think they haven't forgotten.
I'll totally be getting this.

Just wanted to come back and say that the first half hour or so that I've played of it is awesome! I'll already go as far as to say that I recommend it.

Unlike the new game I actually want to play this one.
