EA has announced that Rios and Salam's latest outing, Army of Two: The 40th Day, is headed to the crowded Q1 2010 quarter, specifically January 12 in the US and January 8 in Europe. It's a good time to release a game, really. Look at every one of these other games doing the same thing!
The press release also mentions a pre-order bonus for the game in "Extraction," a multiplayer mode available to those who pre-order The 40th Day. Everyone else will gain access one month later.

Maybe all these games are having development problems, and need the extra time. Or more likely they don't pay attention to what the others are doing and think they can get away from the crowd.

Okay, when are they going to kill this Bethesda-run spambot? Seriously... I've been reporting EVERY comment of his!

First one just didn't do it for me. Played it with a friend. Couldn't get into it.
And guess what tmac, I actually PLAYED the game before assessing it.

Yeah? I knew it wouldn't be very good, but rented it anyway, and returned it after the first level I hated it so much. What can I say, I'm just that damn smart I guess.

@MowDownJoe - how am I spamming? I'm providing a thoughtful comment. I'm not saying CLICK HERE CLICK HERE!!1 The website is related to gaming. I read the articles I comment on like you do and I write a comment relevant to the topic. I would very well admit to being a spammer if I didn't contribute to the topic at hand. But I do.

It might not be that you are spamming, but its the principle behind what you are doing- using these blogs as a mean to plug something (possibly for your own benefit).
we just really hate it. it just seems wrong

Well said. I get a hint. BTW, thanks to everyone here I'm winning the contest which is what the links were for. I don't need to keep the link in my comments anymore (hopefully).

I, personally, am PRAYING New Super Mario Bros Wii gets pushed back to Q1 2010 (or beyond) if it meant at least getting a functioning online component. I refuse to accept "Wii can't handle it" for a 4 player co-op MARIO game with DS-esque graphics.

i'm with Geist. i work and it's not that i won't have the money to buy the games, it's that i'll be back in college after January with almost no time to play them. when i get games during winter break, i have at least a solid month to play em. but not if their not coming out til February or March.

Yes, I have a job too but I'm sure the money is an issue for lots of people here.
Think positively though. Summer is always dry for games and you can pick some of these games up during the summer maybe even at a cheaper price.

People are going to be plugging away in MW2 for months, if not years. This is a moronic move.
Typical corporate thinking, always follow the competitors, no matter how little sense it makes anymore.

Well, I think I prefer "This is a wide array of decent games to be picking up over six months" to "HOW THE FUCK CAN I AFFORD ALL THESE GAMES IN THREE MONTHS"

So if the Dark Void delay made the Joystiq staffers quit, what does this delay do (or don't do) for them?

Me and my buddy loved this game (except for that damn slaughter room in the Poland DLC). It was not fun single-player, but the machismo was something hilarious when enjoyed among friends. In fact, we still quote many of those lines today.

It makes you wonder if Microsoft could have forcasted this push back - given that their EA presentation this year wasn't about games coming out THIS year. That would have really messed them up.

Although, half of the titles in the Q1 2010 will probably either get scrapped, or delayed.
