3's & 7's is metal? I mean, there's some good guitar in there, but I wouldn't call it metal.

But yeah, the rest of it looks like it could melt some faces.

Yeah, pretty much. Helps me that I've only picked up 3's and 7's already, so this may be the first Track Pack I buy.

So naturally I have some questions: Are these importable onto a hard drive like RB1's songs were? If so, is it a one-time code, or can I let a friend borrow the disc afterwards to do the same?

I think that it is a one time deal of you getting the code, but then you download the songs like DLC in to Rock Band 2, so that a person with multiple PS3's can still put it on up to 5 PS3's. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

For all of those wanting the EXCLUSIVE songs:

"Six of the on disc tracks are brand new to the Rock Band platform and will be exclusive to the Rock Band Metal Track Pack disc for a limited time before joining the Rock Band® Music Store as downloadable content. "

At the Gates AND The Haunted? Nothig like a healthy dose of the Björler brothers. Also, ING-VEY Malmsteen! Should be loads of fun.
Fairly indifferent about the rest.

Out of all those songs, the only one I've ever heard was Bulls On Parade.

And that's only cause of Guitar Hero 3.

Could the names of the songs get any more generic? inb4metalheaddownvotes

Bulls on Parade is a good Rage song and I'm glad we're seeing new DLC from them but why couldn't they have picked something like Know Your Enemy, more suited for the instruments of RB?

"why couldn't they have picked something like Know Your Enemy, more suited for the instruments of RB?"

They are a great fit for RB with almost any song. Four member band; crazy, unique solos; balanced highlighting for Guitar/Bass/Drums/Mic; etc. While I would love to see Know Your Enemy eventually included, I would rather have some stuff that wasn't used in these games before. That's not to say I won't download Bulls on Parade as soon as it is released onto the DLC store, I just want more than their two most commercialized songs... (I'd really like the full albums of RATM, Evil Empire, and Battle of Los Angeles, please.)

Any Rage is good Rage. Well, maybe with the exception of perhaps "Beautiful World" from Renegades...

I was just thinking it would be awesome and really piss off Activision if Double Fine and Harmonix could do some sort of "Brutal Legend" pack for Rock Band featuring the entire Brutal Legend soundtrack. After all, EA is responsible for both.

FUCK YEAH RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

About damn time we saw more Rage.

I've got half of these songs, so I'll wait for the exclusives to hit DLC (if they do, otherwise I'll gladly put down the $30 for it)

Somebody should notify Activision.

Except they still don't let you do it on Wii, unless this one will be different from all the other track packs. Activision wins for that, although they lose for almost everything else.

they wont let you do it on the Wii because thats how Nintendo designed their online DLC structure... one file at a time.

Its why you never get to buy an album bundle for discount prices. So don't blame Harmonix, blame Nintendo in that department

Just because Nintendo makes it difficult doesn't make it impossible. Activision is allowing importing for GH5 on Wii. It's slower and a little more screwy, downloading them one at a time instead of in a bundle, but it works.

It's really Vicarious Visions that should be commended for their work on the platform; I don't think Harmonix would have brought DLC to Wii if VV hadn't already done it in GHWT. Another lazy PS2 port would have been more likely.

btw Harmonix could very easily fix the DLC bundling issue on Wii. Say the song pack is 6 songs, which normally costs $9.99 when bundled. That's the normal cost of 5 songs on Wii, 1000 points. So if you purchase 5 songs out of the song pack, then the 6th could be offered for 0 points. You'd end up paying the same price as if you bought them all in a bundle.

Don't blame it all on Nintendo, obviously they could make it easier, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out a workaround.

@ Luke: It doesn't take a genius to come up with ideas...but it does take a genius to actually implement them. And I'm guessing your idea doesn't exact lend itself to easy implementation. As I don't even think it's something that the XBL or PSN current supports.

So here's the math that needed to be done. I literally have every other song already that isn't exclusive to the track pack. So $30 for 5 songs for me is a definite no-go.

What does exclusive track mean? Exclusive to Rock Band? or exclusive to the disc package meaning no DLC?

I only want Bulls on Parade, damn them if you have to buy the whole thing just for that song.
