I've heard a lot of reasons to not get this game, and that is by far the dumbest.

well.... which reason would you like? the reason that it doesn't make as much noise from running off of the disc, or the reason for faster loading times, or the reason for wanting my xbox to live as long as it can???

I don't think you can even install Halo 3 anymore after the last dashboard update. I didn't see the option at least.

New maps looked boring, same old same old. 3 new maps for a $60 "expansion"? No thanks, MW2 and Bad Company 2 are coming out this fall/winter, and maybe even MAG will be good.

listen, i've been through seven (7) 360s. you might say i'm a bit paranoid about wrecking another since i'm low on funds right now. so i'm strictly running off the hard drive. if i get down voted for that you guys are stupid and obviously aren't big 360 players.

Heimbachae

I'm not sure how installing a game and playing online works. I thought I read somewhere that this doesn't work with Halo 3... .its not meant to be played online from the HDD. I install ALL my titles. I agree with you, I like running off the HDD when I can.. but for online titles.. I thought you had to run from the disc. Maybe someone can clarify this. Can you run COD4 off the HDD and play online as well? I've never tried it.

360's failurs have nothing to do with the amount of time spent using them, and it certainly has nothing to do with the disc drive.

I've been using my current one for three years pretty regularly now, where as someone could go out and buy a brand new one and have it break down the next day.

Maybe all your 360s break, because you keep running all your games off the hard drive, genius.

@JD yes, cod4 runs fine off the HD. much like every single other game i own (minus halo).

@leroy nah i just find BS reasons and then return them to Best Buy cause I got that 'anything goes wrong with it we'll give you a new one' policy with them. so yea i've only really had maybe 4 crap out crap out on me, but the others were little things i figured i could snake them out of and i did.

p.s. i'm not commenting anymore, i hate people that constantly comment and i feel i'm over my limit for this thread. want to harass me send me a message on xbox: heimbachae

I do not believe that you have gone through 7 360s. I bought one about 3 months after release....after FINALLY experiencing the RROD, MS fixed it and it still runs great. I game nearly everyday w/o installing games to the HD.

7x$299 would be $2093 dollars plus tax that you have spent on buying 360s? No way. Why would you buy a new one after the second one broke? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me seven times and I am mentally retarded.

Listen, the 360 has not been out for 7 years yet. The warranty for anything going wrong is one year. Your low on funds comment implies that you have had to buy new 360s all of those times....which either means your are full of shit or you are (no offense personally, dude) really dumb.

Why would you not ask MS to honor the warranty? Because they do at no charge to you. They fix it and send it back to you.

I make good money and there is no way in hell I would pa $2100 for an xbox 360.

Is it actually being sold for $60 in the US? It's only £30 which is a lot cheaper than regular games, and we usually get screwed over pretty hard with prices.

But the campaign looks great, firefight mode will be awesome and if you've never bought any of the Halo 3 map packs, it's definitely worth it.

People need to stop calling ODST an expansion - it's an outdated opinion. It originally started as an expansion, yes, but has grown into a full game.
- All new campaign in an open world environment
- All new co-operative multiplayer mode: Firefight
- A second disk with all 24 multiplayer maps ( a great deal if you never bought any map packs)
- All new stat integration on Bungie's web site.

The price justifies the product.

P.S. - Bungie has stated that the game will work fine when installed to the hard drive.

cool. Im actually surprised at myself for looking forward to this game.

I had hundreds of hours on halo 2 multiplayer on xbox live and then I got bored of halo 3 not even 6 months after it came out and sold it. Ill probably buy ODST just because I miss halo multiplayer (halo 2 was the first game I ever played online)

This map pack looks awesome, especially considering how faithful Heretic looks to Midship. The MLG community is really glad that Midship will (probably) be back on the circuit, but I think without button glitches that made it so fun in Halo 2, it'll just be a disappointment. It looks awesome, but nostalgia is incredibly powerful.

It's somewhat surreal to see Midship redone in Halo 3. My first thought was "Hey, why are you showing us Halo 2 footage?". I was hoping that Longshore would be a remake of Headlong, or at least as big, but judging from the little amount of footage it doesn't look nearly as big. I hope I'm wrong.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't think you could jump from the bases to the top sword platform in Halo 2, if so then let the little bitchy griping start again...

And to 343 Guilty Fart, Bungie has said that Longshore is pretty huge.

I'm not a raving Halo fan, but I'm getting Halo: ODST because it's a helluva deal. The game itself, plus the multiplayer disc with $60 worth of Halo 3 map packs with a few new ones, plus a beta for the next (and last) game. Who wouldn't buy it?

I'm actually missing out on some titles like Battlefield 1942 and Bad Company cause I have to juggle COD4 and Halo 3. I'm looking forward to ODST and MW2. Wonder what the servers will look like for COD4 once MW2 hits? I can't keep up. Too many great titles. Damn.. my XBL gold account just expired too. I'm gonna have to get that renewed.

I have to admit i want CoD: MW2, but it seems like there are just too many CoD games. Its almost as bad as Guitar Hero is getting.

I can't wait to play Call of Duty: Guitar Hero Warfare; Van Halen at War (on expert+)

Actually.. you can skip some of them depending on if you prefer a time period or developer. Team B (Treyarch) has been known to produce the COD's pertaining to WW2 over the last few years while Team A (Infinity Ward) has had their's set in modern day. I personally prefer the modern day weapons but know people that enjoy World at War. It's been 2 years since the last Modern Warfare so if you treat these franchises as buying them every couple of years.. it feels like it's about time for the next installment. I agree though.. Activision really likes to milk these franchises for everything they can get.

So, what's the deal with the included DLC maps anyway, can I use them on Halo 3 as well? I wouldn't mind going for the other Halo 3 achievements from those maps if I bought this. How does it work anyway, you install the disc, disc swap or does the game include a form of Halo 3 multiplayer?
