MS are dropping the price of the Elite by $100 as well, so it's still going to be the far cheaper console, plus I don't think the only reason people aren't buying PS3's is because of the price, if people actually thought it was that much better I'm sure an extra $100 wouldn't stop them.
It'll definitely help sales though, if true. But reports from the UK claim it's no cheaper here than current PS3 models.

damn 160gb and full bc for $299. Should be interesting to see how fanboys try to put a bad spin on this....no matter how you look at it, this is definitely a magnificent deal.
I don't see how the elite is going to be the far cheaper purchase. If anything.. the elite might be the same price...and there was talks of that being a two week deal. I would love for them to drop the price of the arcade $100 but I doubt that is going to happen.
