As PC indie-darling Darwinia takes the long way to consoles, it's time for developer Introversion to show off some Darwinia+ Avatar merchandise -- where the real money from the game is made. A couple weeks back the studio showed off two shirts that'll be available to Avatars at some point in the future, probably when the game finally launches.
Although we're not sure if the clothing items will cost anything on the Avatar Marketplace, it'd be pretty hard to resist the purchase of little Darwinians as a prop. They'd be so cute skittering about our virtual representation's feet.

You know what would be a really cool way to unlock team uniforms? Awards for completing a season with a specific team in Sports Game 20XX. I know it will probably never happen, but it might actually get me to play some sports games' single player career instead of just multiplayer.
Just a thought anyways, I hear a lot of people complaining about the lack of licensed sport uniforms.

When will we be able to unlock avatar stuff through achievements? What will be the first game to do this?

I just laugh at the idea of paying for your avatar, cool stuff but like, idk save that money and get a new pair of shoes or something instead of your avatar. Nobody liked the idea of spending ms points on avatars back when they came out but I guess everyone forgot.

It's all relative. why buy shoes instead of buying food for yourself or travelling somewhere new? Some people buy shoes because outward appearances are important to them. Some people buy avatar clothing because virtual appearances are important to them. There's always a market, however small, for this stuff.

im dont think these items are great additions to the avatar program even if they are just unlockables tied to achievements. i hope devs start to support avatars less as an afterthought and more like real features and incentives for gamers..

Judging by how only two shirts were revealed, I'm guessing these clothes will be unlockable from achievements and not purchasable from Avatar Marketplace.
