Despite the recently discovered resume indicating that Batman: Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady Studios may be working on a game titled Hitman5 (yes, without a space), Eidos "Life President" Ian Livingstone flat out denies the possibility. Talking to Prey's World Gaming Magazine, Livingstone said, "Hitman always has been and always will be IO Interactive's baby, which it still continues to be so."
Worried about miswording in that? He followed up with, "Rocksteady are not involved with the development of Hitman 5." All that said, we do know that some version of Hitman is on the way, as Livingstone has confirmed as such in the past and Rocksteady is currently hiring a few positions to produce a "AAA titile on the next generation platforms." It appears as though the two are unrelated though, at least for now. Meanwhile, IO Interactive is currently wrapping up development of Mini Ninjas for a September release -- and then the studio can get to work on the next Hitman game in earnest, eh?
(Please?)

To be honest I never played any Hitman.
But I'm excited about Rocksteady's Just Cause 2. The first one was fantastic.

Actually, Avalanche Studios is developing Just Cause 2. I wonder what Rocksteady is working on next!

I laugh everytime I see that photograph. It looks like he is reaching for her breasts with his hand but is afraid of the gun in her hand.

Am I the only one who's sick of hearing the term next generation? It's been the -current- generation since 2006.

Well, actually we've kind of been "next-gen" since 2005...

Io should have done this when Hitman still had potential. They missed the chance for Freedom Fighters 2 (online co-op) and Hitman 5 to be cool.
I think the only way Hitman could be marketable now is if the franchise is re-branded. With a fresh look and story.

Yeah, it's boiled down to "I recognize you have done something that is intended to be amusing and I am acknowledging it as such, thought it is unlikely I am doing more than smiling slightly at best". That would be a bit of a clunky acronym though, and thus "lol" becomes the catchall response to humor.
Blah blah, death of the English language, etc etc.

I've never said LOL. Never in my life (Except for right now, being that I'm giving an example).

Too bad Rocksteady isn't making Hitman5. I was really looking forward to having a Hitman game that played in a manner similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum or Splinter Cell: Conviction.....at least in terms of the variety of hand to hand combat moves. Of course the accident system would have to say in. Its ftw ;).

Ditto zsb2003.....though one thing that bothered the hell out of me is that you could be acting as inconspicuous as possible and still get detected in that game. Still was a lot of fun, but there really wasn't too much emphasis to get slient assassin ranks in that game aside from the money that it gave you.

I can't understand how IO stays in business. The Hitman/Freedom Fighters series were good, although Hitman is kind of stale ... Kane & Lynch was unfairly pissed on ... but IO is in Denmark. You get taxed at least 63% on income of USD 70,000 or more. It has one of the highest costs of living in the world. Must be hard to draw talent there.
