Dead Nation: new PS3 exclusive from Super Stardust devs

We'd feel sorry for the undead if they weren't constantly trying to eat our brains. Here's yet another game about taking out a horde, nay a nation, of zombies. Dead Nation is the next PlayStation Network-exclusive game from Housemarque, developers of popular twin-sticker, Super Stardust HD. While it reminds us of games like Burn, Zombie, Burn! and Zombie Apocalypse (two other zombie-themed PSN games), we're certain Housemarque will be able to do something unique with this title.

looks cool, altho I could see that getting boring kinda quick (atleast based on the trailer)

i'm down for zombies anytime, but its kinda getting old and stale.... but seeing as everyone and their moms love zombies, i'll get downvoted

I don't think my mom loves zombies, but I still do. Maybe I miss the classic zombie since Resident Evil ditched them in favor of a weird parasite that's totally less cool.

What is with the sudden influx of zombie related games?

Zombie games have always been popular. I'm just happy someone finnaly did a top down shooter this generation with realistic art style, good graphics and lighting. The game looks amazing!

You did see a boomer. This looks to be a straight copy of L4D with an aerial camera.

with the popularity of L4D, why would that be a bad thing?

Just make it 2-4 player and ill be in for it or maybe leveling up. thatd be cool too :D

so...they reskinned Re-Loaded with Left4Dead and called it a game? Looks fun, at least.

I still have the long box version of Loaded for PS1. I love that game.

No one else think the trailer looks like Grindhouse and sound like Pulp Fiction? Awesome.

Yeah, definitely. Got that same vibe with the tunes and the film grain.

With Left 4 Dead already out and the sequel looking even more intense, this looks... underwhelming.

You realize this is a PSN game and not a full retail game like Left 4 Dead. I love Left 4 Dead(PC) it's amazing but I still love arcade games like Burn Zombie Burn(PS3 PSN).

This game is right up my alley I love the horror genre and I'm a George A. Romero fan so anything zombie throw it my way.

I REALLY hope that the music in game isn't that stupid campy crap in the video.

I'm sure it'll have custom soundtrack option, just as Super Stardust HD has.

Housemarque seem to have a habit of getting into a genre just as everyone is getting tired of it. Still, if it's anything like SSHD, it'll be among the best of that genre.

I want to know what kind of stats they are tracking on that map! They could make this damn interesting by having regions that need to be cleared and then have thousands of people online kicking zombie ass together. Though that type of thing could just be a reason to put a stupid amount of zombies in the game to the point where it really is just as boring and repetitive as everyone is speculating.

Looks pretty solid. Good old PSN. Probably my second favorite thing about PS3. (BluRay first).

Looks cool. I might download this once it comes out. Kinda reminds me of Hunter: The Reckoning. I hope there's multiplayer.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks kind of like Super Stardust HD, but with zombies instead of asteroids. Don't get me wrong, I love Super Stardust HD, but... if all this game does is swap out rocks for zombies, I don't know. Hopefully, a future trailer will show why it's not what I think.

I think it's just you. I don't see any relation to SSHD at all.

Vid, if it's a dual stick shooter, it has a lot in common with SSHD... but then, every dual stick shooter feels similar it seems.

Looks really good, but I'm not so sure about the music. I'd rather go with something dark and moody instead.

Considering the influx of zombie themed Gauntlet type games already released they're kinda late to the party

I'm looking forward to Zombie Apocalypse, and this one at least looks good, will definitely give it a try.

On a somewhat related note, I'd recommend everyone fire up Indie Games on 360 and download "I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMBIES 1N IT!!!1" from the same developer behind The Dishwasher. Really cool stuff for $1.

Whatever 360 still has the best exclusive zombie game I Maed a gam3 with zomb1es in 1t!1!

Looks like good fun.

Also, the lighting is just great!
