It looks like the content patch designed to make LittleBigPlanet's level creation tools more "versatile" has been revealed! The video above does a good job of dramatically unveiling the feature, but we won't beat around the bush -- Media Molecule will introduce water into the game in an upcoming DLC pack. Some of the best user-made levels have had aquatic themes -- we can't wait to see what folks can come up with once this gets released.
Of course, we'll have to wait out the deluge of Super Mario Bros. World 2-2 remakes before we get to these little nuggets of originality. It's cool, though -- it's not like there aren't plenty of other textured playgrounds we can romp around in.

I'm guessing this isn't going to be free. Not complaining- we finally get some some LBP DLC worth buying. I don't know about you, but I couldn't care less about downloadable costumes.

It will be JUST like the MGS pack, so you DON'T have to pay for it.
If you pay for it, you can play the levels whenever you want to and you can create levels with water.
If you don't pay for it, you can only play the levels when you're invited by your friends and you won't be able to create levels with water.

Yeah, I wonder how accurate the water physics would be? Would a block of water go everywhere and knock stuff over when the physics are turned on etc?

I hope we won't have to pay to play with water. That would be lame.

I hope you can make Sackpeople drown, instead of letting them swim.

As much as I love cut-out, paper mache waves... this is going to be awesome. And, the trailer, as always, was pure genius.

So I guess I'm the only one not thoroughly jazzed for this update?

This looks amazing! Does this mean my wish of a tool that deletes material around a sticker can come true?

Oh man oh man oh man. I got a soft spot for LBP even though I don't own it nor a PS3 yet, but today's announcements got me thinking otherwise...
