LittleBigPlanet receiving moisture in upcoming content pack
It looks like the content patch designed to make LittleBigPlanet's level creation tools more "versatile" has been revealed! The video above does a good job of dramatically unveiling the feature, but we won't beat around the bush -- Media Molecule will introduce water into the game in an upcoming DLC pack. Some of the best user-made levels have had aquatic themes -- we can't wait to see what folks can come up with once this gets released.
Of course, we'll have to wait out the deluge of Super Mario Bros. World 2-2 remakes before we get to these little nuggets of originality. It's cool, though -- it's not like there aren't plenty of other textured playgrounds we can romp around in.

This is nothing short of awsome.
fwacce @ Aug 18th 2009 12:47PM
Coolest trailer ever.
Pumapayam @ Aug 18th 2009 12:52PM
We still are missing the ICE hazard!
CzAr @ Aug 18th 2009 1:30PM
I was waiting for this to appear in LBP2. So excited.
Bagels: Almost certainly not as stupid as you think. Also, Memes. @ Aug 18th 2009 2:11PM
The little countdown clock made me think of the spastic music that plays when you start running out of air in Sonic games.
Cornelius @ Aug 18th 2009 12:45PM
I'm guessing this isn't going to be free. Not complaining- we finally get some some LBP DLC worth buying. I don't know about you, but I couldn't care less about downloadable costumes.
Roto13 @ Aug 18th 2009 1:55PM
So... you'd rather pay for this than get it for free, just so you can spend money on LBP DLC besides costumes?
Gervin @ Aug 18th 2009 4:36PM
Agreed. ENOUGH FLIPPING COSTUMES.
MORE REAL CONTENT.
99.9% of the time, I play with my guy naked as God made him.
Ashitaka @ Aug 18th 2009 9:13PM
It will be JUST like the MGS pack, so you DON'T have to pay for it.
If you pay for it, you can play the levels whenever you want to and you can create levels with water.
If you don't pay for it, you can only play the levels when you're invited by your friends and you won't be able to create levels with water.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Aug 18th 2009 12:45PM
That shark outfit is awesome.
Saihna @ Aug 18th 2009 3:10PM
It was part of the first dlc costume pack!
Copland @ Aug 18th 2009 12:46PM
I saw the "water" demo, and it was jaw dropping.
Mm is really adding a big feature to LBP.
This feature would really enhance LBP :)
jason @ Aug 18th 2009 12:50PM
ok when you apply water to a stuff toy it absorbs it meaning :it will get heavy and sink to the bottom
Daffy Duck @ Aug 18th 2009 12:56PM
Unless the "stuff toy" is alive and can swim back up. That's the wonders of Sackboy and games.
SpaceFox @ Aug 18th 2009 12:48PM
That video is just too awesome. Swimming sackboy = win.
This is actually a pretty important addition though, can't wait to see how it works.
Henry @ Aug 18th 2009 12:51PM
Yeah, I wonder how accurate the water physics would be? Would a block of water go everywhere and knock stuff over when the physics are turned on etc?
PR0F3TA @ Aug 18th 2009 12:50PM
i love this content pack. Tho i gotta admit, i HATE HATE HATE water levels... but i can see this as more of a positive.
Pumapayam @ Aug 18th 2009 12:51PM
It's strange, and sorta laughable, yet satisfying to be excited about water physics in a game now.
Bravo Media Molecule.
Einhanderkiller @ Aug 18th 2009 12:55PM
I hope we won't have to pay to play with water. That would be lame.
Roto13 @ Aug 18th 2009 1:56PM
If you do have to pay for the tool, you'll most likely still be able to play user created levels that include water for free.
Bagels: Almost certainly not as stupid as you think. Also, Memes. @ Aug 18th 2009 2:07PM
See: Dasani, Poland Spring, Evia, Fuji, etc.
prodigy69 @ Aug 18th 2009 1:03PM
aaaw f*** yea...this is awesome
-Jad- @ Aug 18th 2009 1:15PM
AWESOME!!!!
Drew @ Aug 18th 2009 1:59PM
I hope you can make Sackpeople drown, instead of letting them swim.
j.howlett @ Aug 18th 2009 2:06PM
that's kind of twisted, and i know because i was thinking almost the same thing
Maulok @ Aug 18th 2009 2:07PM
That video cracked me up. Especially the Shark just looking around confused on dry land.
343 Guilty Fart @ Aug 18th 2009 2:14PM
Wow, i really need to get back into this game.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Aug 18th 2009 2:28PM
Finally,Hidrocity leveles and more accurate Contra levels here I go.
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Aug 18th 2009 2:35PM
Oh...hell yes.
ryan_gliebe @ Aug 18th 2009 2:44PM
As much as I love cut-out, paper mache waves... this is going to be awesome. And, the trailer, as always, was pure genius.
Cypher @ Aug 18th 2009 3:09PM
WANT.
Trev_tron @ Aug 18th 2009 3:30PM
So I guess I'm the only one not thoroughly jazzed for this update?
Electrogirl @ Aug 18th 2009 4:26PM
This looks amazing! Does this mean my wish of a tool that deletes material around a sticker can come true?
Paul @ Aug 18th 2009 5:27PM
when's this jawn comin out?
VaultICEE @ Aug 18th 2009 6:00PM
Oh man oh man oh man. I got a soft spot for LBP even though I don't own it nor a PS3 yet, but today's announcements got me thinking otherwise...
Ashitaka @ Aug 18th 2009 9:15PM
WIN!
