Also, he meets up with Madeline (or whatever her name is)? Awesome! His kid is probably at the strip club then.
Seriously, this game looks awesome. A little weirded out by the 'carry your kid on your shoulders' section which will be gameplay. Seems that they're forcing the bond between you and the kid.
ALSO, how are you supposed to bond with any other character too seriously when you already are investing in 4 distinct main characters? Hopefully I'm proven wrong...

Yea this game looks simply amazing. This is why I am proud to be a PS3 owner.
I'll be honest. This TRAILER moved me. By the end of it I felt like I was the father and I NEEDED to find my only son.
This game would be an epic movie, no doubt. The story is looking fantastic and this could possibly go, in my book, best game of all time.
If you don't buy this game, you are truly missing out.

The kid died after getting hit by that car. there were 2 boy playing in the sun, then only one crying in the rain. I think the father is motivated to catch the Origami Killer in order to either save his remaining son from death or to redeem the death of his other son or something.

The remaining son was kidnapped by the Origami Killer.
He goes to rescue him, not for money, not for fame, but for love. Ala tag line "What would you do for love?"

So from what I got from the trailer - the game is about a formerly happy divorced parent who has to raise his kid alone? They should give it to dead beat dads to play. If the game isn't about that, then they need to make a game like that.

Ok I just saw him running through and jumping over what looked like a fully suited SWAT team. I thought the super power cult stuff wasn't going to be in Heavy Rain.

You saw wrong all he does is run at them and jump, he doesnt jump over them just through them. LIke if you were running at some people and you jumped wiht you knee up same thing!
