Atlus just isn't quite done with remaking Persona 3. A new issue of Famitsu has hit Japanese newsstands and one of the most notable entries is an advertisement for Persona 3: Portable. While details are slim, the ad prominently shows a new female character standing aside the nameless main character of Persona 3 and Persona 3: FES.
The ad proclaims the game will be available on November 1st, which, honestly, seems rather sudden. (No Q1 slump for Japan?) If it follows the model of the PSP port of the original Persona, we're bound to see a ton of extras remixed into the game.

Controlling your other party members would be nice. I lost to Nyx the first time I fought her due to AI incompetence.

So they bring Persona 1 Remake, and Persona 3 to PSP.
Why not bring 2 before 3?
Also Europe is not getting the Persona remake, and i cant import it from playasia or amazon.com, what do i do?

the best place for imports into Europe imo they tag everything as a gift and a different price so you don't need to deal with customs and gamestop is good too but there will be a custom fee but hey its worth it for 1-2 days shipping from NA to UK.

Persona 2 is the only one stuck in "PSone limbo" where you can only buy it overpriced on eBay and the "Innocent Sin" spin-off isn't even available outside Japan.
Atlus is sitting on a potential goldmine. The PSP is desperate for good titles at this point compared to the DS. They could bundle both Eternal Punishment (original) and Innocent Sin in one package for English regions.
I know I'd buy it.

I guess if people bought the same game twice, they might as well buy it a third time.

this is actually great for me. i've wanted it a long time but i just don't have the time to sit and play my ps2 anymore. a psp version would be great since i can have it anywhere anytime. its like they made it just for me!

Just by looking at that picture, You might be able to choose your gender of the Main Character, I mean look at the similarities.

Based on that synopsis, I would say you won't be able to choose your gender.
They both look like chics.

I agree with you... seems pretty clear to me that it allows you to choose your gender...

Oh, awesome, I was just about to buy it for PS2 but I think i'll hold off now. Having played Persona 4 i'm very keen to play the bits I missed, but i'd rather play it on PSP than on PS2, coz the PS2 looks truly awful on my TV right now. Could proberbly use a component cable...

Yes! There are a lot of good games on the PSP now. It's time to get one.
But I hope they make the game more friendly... I mean they should keep the same level of difficulty during combat, but add auto-save or checkpoints, since it will be on a portable system.

She's a new player character, though your comment, kwizzeh, makes me wonder if she'll be in if you play male (which, in reverse, would mean our mostly-silent protagonist could have dialogue!). Oh, and if you go female, Igor's assisstant will be male (heck you get a female-ish Orpheus (his deceased wife?) as your starter persona).
BTW: The 'old' prot. does have a name, though it was only given in side materials -- Minato Arisato (or Arisato Minato, if we're goin' surname-first)

That be kind of interesting. I would think they would give Minato some dialogue in the same way they gave him dialogue in the manga. He rarely talked and always looked sleepy (the only thing I remember from the manga was "I nearly died" and that's when he was holding his breath underwater). I'm hoping for vice-versa too where the female MC would end up being exactly the same. Rarely talks and always looks like she's about to fall asleep.

Not really an official name, given to him by Shūji Sogabe the fellow who wrote and drew the manga...

You're totally just going to be able to select her as the main character. As a male I probably wouldn't take advantage of this feature, and personally FES is good enough for me considering the updates to the male's story are negligible I'm betting. I know I'm just making excuses but I can't buy every remake of every game I enjoy guldurnit...

I never really got into this series, and hell I don't even know what it's about apart from people shooting "personas" with a special gun to their cranium, but it seems so very hyped by the gaming community.
I'd really like to know what Persona's about and if it's connected to Shin Megami Tensei and that one with the kid in those stripes.

I never played any SMT games, but this and P4 myself. The basic synopsis is that you go to high school during the day and fight demons at night.

They're up to episode 131 now, but watch the first couple to see if the series would interest you.

Playing P3:FES right now and it's is pretty good. A pretty big grindfest, though, but the gameplay mechanic is interesting enough to make it worthwhile.
Jesus Christ, too much good stuff coming out on all platforms, and I don't have enuf moneyz!

as much as another persona game pleases me id rather them have redone persona 4 since they already made FES. and i played through the original and FES all the way through. a 3rd time might be a bit much even if its in portable form. 4 was without a doubt one of my favorite rpg's for ps2 and would like to see some extension to maybe the story or the characters in some way

I'm not buying P3F again, but now I'm torn. Do I wait for a P4P that may never come, or do I buy it and miss out on portable goodness?
