now what about canada having them videostore ehh? we're just up here beside america, its not that hard to miss.. anyways, the new xmb looks pretty cool.

Well I guess this means that the only other region now not to have the PSN Video Store soon will be Canada. Oh, and that also leaves out Australia and New Zeland.

Well either way congrats to Europe for getting the Video Store.

the 3.o update looks good. I'm not going to even complain because I don't have to pay for this nor pay for playing online.

Anyone know how to get that sparkly effect for the background theme? Or is that part of 3.0?

Don't forget that by "Europe" Sony means: UK, France, Germany, and Spain and maybe 1 or 2 more countries.

All the other european countries with a smaller population are never considered as being part of Europe.

For ex.:

- the Playsation web pages in other languages than english, french or spanish haven't been upated since 2007,

- many european countries like Cyprus don't even have access to the PSN,

- Vidzone is actually only available in 6 european countries.

Sony is very good at making big announcements but the reality is often very different.

Frustrated people outside Europe should know that many other european customers get frustrated as well.

Lovefilm have been doing a download service for a while now so I wonder if there will be a console version soon. Hope so as I don't want to pay for extra rentals when I already have a free package, but it would be nice to watch rental downloads on the telly.

I'm from Romania (Eastern Europe) and the Romanian PlayStation website advertises full PSN support for the Romanian customers but once you plug in the console, you find out Sony was just kidding, "Your country is not supported". So yes, when Sony say Europe, they are only talking about the "nicer" countries.

I find the recent PS3 Slim launch really ironic. Everyone is congratulating Sony for finally listening to their customers, when actually Sony simply ignore/lie to the smaller, less fortunate customers. There's an online petition signed by 6700 Romanian customers (http://www.petitiononline.com/6010sd29/petition.html) that got shafted by the "here's you PSN, oh wait, you don't deserve PSN" policy. That petition's been sent to all the official SCEE representatives several times and we haven't received any answers.
