"new & Exciting" could me firmware....I mean PSN IS going to be down in a few hours for "scheduled maintenance" why do that during one of the most BUSIEST times for gaming in Asia, & EU?? must be something important....

Would a retailer promote a firmware upgrade though? How would they make money from that? I mean, there could be a firmware upgrade in addition to the release of the PS3 slim I guess, but I don't think K-Mart would be trying to sell that... Unless we have to start paying for them (!).

If you go to best buy they have a Gamer Reward Zone thing, where you can get $10 rebates for spending $150 on games. If you have to buy games, it seems like a good places to go, and you get a reward for stuff you would have gotten anyway.

I'm counting PSP revisions.. at least every couple years there's a hardware revision from Sony.

Anywho, just told my friend about this. He has a 360 but has been wanting a PS3 for some time (lawn mower took precedence over a gaming system).. just waiting for a price drop. A cheap, discounted fat could be in his future :).

Yeap. I've one too with backwards compatibility but just a few times I've played PS2 games on it, I mean is not a feature it would drive me to buy a PS3 mostly an affordable price would do it.

And yes Chris I've all the God of War & MGS games, but once I moved to this generation rarely I've played games from the past one.

Of course it seems this is a feature asked so many times by fans so SONY should implemented it in one way or another.
