Damn Sweetie Pie, youre looking good. Oh yes you are. Did you lose some weight? Maybe some of that high price point?

Turn around, let me look at you.

Mmmm mmmmmmm.

Just sold my 80GB phatty a couple weeks ago on the gamble that the price will come down, I sold it for slightly higher than the rumored price drop. ($350)

So here's to hoping for either a cheaper PS3 slim or a system with backwards playback.

Otherwise i'll be sinking this money into beefy new computer upgrades.

$350 is a beefy GPU, and not much else.

i have more than 350 to spend... but would go with some cheaper parts if i could get a PS3 for that price...

otherwise, all of it is going towards upgrades.

I hope its one or the other. I just want something to drive down the cost of those refurb. consoles so I can pick one up real cheap. I doubt I'll play may many games on it (MGS, LBP, Uncharted), just movies. I got my 360/computer for all my gaming needs.

Wow I might actually buy a ps3..

Does anyone know the original price of the uncharted 160gigHD bundle?

Also is 160 gigs really neccessary? Can you copy like movies and stuff onto it? How much is each game install roughly?

160gig is deff neccessary, you cant rip movies but you can buy them off the playstation store, along with t.v shows. i filled up my 40 rather quick and upgraded to a 320gig

not sure but i think 499.00 as far as space, i bought the 40 gb n swapped in a 160 off newegg dont need the 2 extra usb i put a hub on it n also dont need the card reader thats the only diffs between the 2 anyway i have 32 psn games n probably 15 - 20 game installs n i have 93 gb of space left. the size of intalls varies but doesnt usually go beyon 1-1.5gb. sometimes if i know i'm not going to play a certain game for a while i'll delete the install but save the game save file for it they r separate from each other. movies can be put on it yes but not off of a disk download n psn only or from a usb drive or external drive. i also have a 250 gb external drive i keep all my movies n shows on which i will probably need to be upgrading soon since its getting full. you can rip music from disk. so when it comes down to it if ur going to have everything on just the internal drive yes the space can be used up quite quickly with media but if u r just going to have psn games n installs it could last quite a while ive had my ps3 going on 2 yrsn i'm only using around 50 gb for games n installs

I've got the Uncharted bundle. The bigger the HDD, the better. With 19 games, media, etc I'm already using 97GB. For 499, because of Uncharted's GH status I can't recommend the bundle anymore. But for 399 or lower it's a steal. Unless you plan on upgrading the HDD imediately, go with the Slim or the Uncharted bundle.

ThAnks fellas.. Huge help.

My last question is how do you tell if it's BC? cause that's gonna be my major selling point. Does it say so on the back of the box or do you have to look up a SKU# somewhere or something?

@ Serpintine

I know it's tough, but don't be a jerk huh.. All I asked was if it states BC on the back of the box. Yes or no would suffice.

Does anybody have a feeling that we're in for a fake price drop?

It seems like there's a chance that the Slim will sell at $400 while the standard system will be marked down and promptly taken out of circulation once they've all been sold.

Does it mean anything that the grayed out box in the top right says "PS3 Price Reduction?"

in a couple hours all those people that were swearing the slim wasnt real owe me 5 bucks! i really hope the psn going down means a beefy firmware update is coming soon too. might it have something to do with the psp go functionality though n not new features for ps3 like cross game chat etc.??

If this all turns out to be true and the ps3 slim is $299, well looks like Sony may very well finally have my money this year.

Yeah, it's called a Playstation 3. If you want it to play games on your 360, just place on top.

If the PS3 Slim at their new low price still can't outsell the competition, I just don't know anymore. They tried any and every thing to spice up their console and nothing work. Good luck Sony. Fans should also pray because this is their last chance to make something happen because if nothing continues to happen the PS3 will not last and break their 10 year life cycle promise.

"New Exciting PS3" sounds like a bad translation from Japanese, or a really bad attempt to copy something that was already dubiously named, the "New Xbox Experience."

Why does every company think we want smaller consoles/handhelds. Inside of a PS3 slim, I want a PS3 fat. It should be built like a tank.
