Sigh, and I had such high hopes for being able to download brand-new titles onto my xbox... One day?

Obviously new titles aren't going to go on demand straight away. Its been said on the Joystiq Xbox podcast that they won't be, as the server probably won't be able to handle it. Besides, i'm sure publishers and retailers would be pretty pissed at microsoft if it happened, and microsoft needs to keep retailers happy, to keep selling their consoles.

Games on Demand is quickly transitioning from poorly thought-out to flat-out insulting.

Deal of the Week: Save 240 MS Points when you buy Saints Row.

Dakar, you are absolutely right. I am glad MS gave us a new updated NXE but MS needs to focus on updating it's sad Marketing group. SRSLY

Im buying this asap. This is a good deal. It used to cost $60 last time I seen it at the store so now I can get it half price and without the hassle of putting in the disc....sweet!

Why so much? A three year old game. You pay more for the downloaded version than for the same thing on a disc in a box? Seems like the download should be much cheaper.

And, I am assuming that you can't then sell the download version back as a used game.

Seems like $15 - $20 would have been a fair price for this.when you can buy the disc for that much.

Perhaps MS feels like they would be leaving money on the table if they lowered the price, but I just can't see very many people opting for the download of an old game for more than the disc costs retail new.

odd

I guess the only advantage that I can see is that you don't need the disc in to play the download version. Perhaps people don't want to have to keep up with a disc?

I'm sorry. I love my xbox 360 console. She's the only one I own at the moment.. but come on!! Games on Demands is turning out to be a total scam. Lego Stars Wars is $29.99?!?! Saint's Row, Fight Night Round 3, RSV are $29.99?!?!? Games on demand should be priced to compete with retailers. Granted.. Gamestop will have some of these games cheaper used. I saw RSV for $12.99. But if you are buying this to download to the limited space on your HDD... it ought to me much cheaper than this. I think they would have been smarter to have these games to rent. Pay a small fee to have access to them for 5 days or something.. like the movie rentals. That would have been sweet. At least you'd get to try them and earn the achievements without necessarily having to try to keep them on your HDD. I would like to see more Xbox Originals available for download too over these overpriced games of the last 2 or 3 years. These are great games.. but the price is a joke. I can still think of plenty of titles on the original xbox that would run smoother off of the HDD.

They charging platinum hits prices for platinum hit games. That's if you buy them new. Which is what your doing. You won't get much if you trade in these games so it's probably not worth it to. I personally don't see a problem with them. I've played them all so i'm obviously not going to buy them again.

And I was actually looking forward to the Games On Demand feature at one time. Major fail Microsoft, major fail. :-(
