I don't remember the last time I was this hyped for a game. I'm actually getting kind of scared that it'll end up a letdown no matter how good it is, but... Damn that looks to be one fine game....

The way video game narratives work, you usually don't have to play previous games in a series to play the sequels (with the exception being the Metal Gear series). That said, you can find the first Uncharted pretty cheap, and I'd recommend buying it anyway, because it's a damn good game.

Obie: Uncharted 2 shouldn't rely on any of the first game's story. However, the first was a fun game with a good enough story. Certainly up there on the list of games to play if you buy aS3.
I suggest buying it and playing through it at least a couple weeks before the new one comes out, so you can appreciate the additions and improvements they are making in the sequel.

I'm with you , Hyams. I know publishers and developers have to release massive media to create enough hype to sell maximum units... but I think it kinda stinks that we end up seeing so much of these games before they come out that there is nothing left to really surprise us. I've made it a habit of avoiding videos once I've made up my mind that a game looks good. If I haven't been convinced, I have no problems watching trailers. I stopped watching FFXIII videos a looong time ago, and I don't think I've seen an Uncharted 2 video since the MP beta.
