Dreams become nightmares in this Dreamkiller teaser

"With great power comes great responsibility," Luke Skywalker once said. Wait, that's not right. Was it Hulk Hogan? Well, it doesn't matter who said it, just know it's the problem plaguing hero Alice Drake in Mindware Studios' upcoming Dreamkiller. See, she can enter the Dreamworld, but instead of having an army of robotic vampires or fighting Freddy Krueger in a church, she's forced to wield big guns and torch creepy dolls. Which one is better? We'll let you be the judge.

Agreed. Everything looked very plastic. For a dream world I expected things to look a bit mor ethereal and less substantial.

It seemed neat until she had conventional firearms in a dream.
Guns can be left out of a lot of games, and this seems to be one of them.

Forthithed... I probably should have stopped that joke rather than continued it.

It kinda reminds me of painkiller vids, run round in circles shooting as stuff that's lurching "scarily" towards you. Her arm looks like it's from a barbie doll too, which would scare the crap outta me.

I wonder if they'll make a mechanism where you have to press a button for her to say "my name is Alice Drake" at the start of each level, or maybe it'll use the chat pad in an attempt to make that more viable, hopefully you can get her to say "My name is Francis Drake, I've come to colonise your dreams, for the Queen" or something of that sort.

I also wonder if there'll be some wonderful plot whereby she'll (or hopefully you'll) forget to say "My name is Jake the Snake" and thus she'll forget where her mind ends and blah blah blah and thus turn into a blob of goo. Maybe that should be a spoiler warning...

Wow, just came here to say the same thing. The first half looked like it could have been an interesting adventure game, the second half looked like a modded version of Doom.

The only way that gameplay gets acceptable is if this is somehow an XBLA game. That just looked really bad.

I was all excited thinking I was about to see some artsy, new concept and blam! The fail hits.

I am incredibly underwhelmed by this; I thought for a second while I was watching a trailer that it was a Wii exclusive. The most impressive parts were the opener and closing. The only exciting part about it for me was when I read the title and thought it had something to do with the Dreamfall series.

Once the gameplay hit, I thought Serious Sam.

I could be wrong, but this just seems budget.
I was expecting hipster and got frat-boy. I do hope I'm wrong.

At first i thought it was a darker sequel to the Longest Journey and Dreamfall games because both games had a female heroine entering fantastical worlds through dreams and the name Alice Drake automatically made me thought of April Ryan. So when I saw that it was an FPS, i was immediately disappointed it was not another Longest Journey sequel...

Game play reminds me of Serious Sam, but not in a good way. Reminds me in the "this game looks like it is 10 years old" way.

They should have made the game play like Clive Barkers Undying. That shit was scary when I played it at around 14. I remember being all into it with my friend and looking at a a mirror and a ghost poping up behind me in the mirror. THAT or that call of cthulu game.

I don't remember reading anything on this game until just now--that's gotta be a bad sign, right? plus it's coming out this year? they might want to wait until next year and put more polish on it like Alan Wake is doing, y'know, avoid the heavy competitive holiday schedule?
