Started playing yesterday (the 18th), when this was announced, and had quite a bit of fun. Only problem is that all of the vocal audio is super high pitched and super fast. It's like the chipmunks on fast forward. Anyone else experience this?

Check your settings in the Audio MIDI Setup. The problem you mention appears to happen when it's set to anything else but 44,100 kHz.

I wouldn't call it being 'stuck using Windows' simply because there are games like TF2 to play.

Oh and replace the helmet on your Soldier avatar to a Paper Mario hat (like mine)

I don't want to use Linux so bad that I'm willing to reboot every time I want to play my games.

Also I've thought about the hat thing before, but I decided against it because of the blue soldier and the red hat. :/

I was a bit bummed that I could play it using Firefox on my Mac, so Safari will have to suffice. Been hearing that there's quite a few Linux issues though. I haven't tested it out myself since my Linux box isn't really setup for gaming.

Wow I just noticed a typo in what I said. I meant to say that I was a bit bummed that I COULDN'T play in Firefox. No idea why I was rated down so much for that...

Registered, downloaded, and started playing it on my Macbook. It looks pretty cool, though a trackpad (even the one on the Macbook) is a no-no. All in all: good for id. I am, as you youngsters say, 'hip to their jive.'

By the looks of it, the Mac portion of the Quake live support is only extended to intel macs, NOT PowerPC macs!

I found this out the hard way.

Sniff.

It's horribly buggy on Macs at the moment (crashes, the sound problem mentioned above, the right mouse button does not work...) but the "Beta" tag is there for a reason. I'm having a blast.
