Well, 6 of those songs are already on the main disc, and several others (e.g. Because, Her Majesty...) are not really well suited to the game.

I'll probably pick up selected singles (You Never Give Me Your Money, She Came In Through The Bathroom Window) and save my spending splurges for later DLC releases.

Aw yes...I just noticed that :( Oh well, I'll probably just be buying some singles now. Change up the list and show which ones are already included in the game Joystiq!

17 - 6 = 11 songs for $17 is like $1.55 per song right? So if you do wanna have the complete album it still is cheaper to buy the whole thing than just the 11 songs separately, I guess.

If you complain about the price of Rock Band Beatles songs I have this to say...

Guitar Hero 3 was charging 2.50 for songs without Drum or Vocal Capability and you were rarely able to play Bass...

So be grateful Harmonix lowered costs for us and provided more content. It's 50 cents an instrument.

Why'd I get downvoted? It was just a question, I read the whole article it said nothing about this, and I haven't kept up on Beatles Rock Band news....

I see where you're coming from but think about it:

If you've seen any of the beatles rock band videos the animations and everything are totally different. same engine, just all 60's and trippy

and also, some iron maiden looking guy playing the beatles in the underground? that's just weird.

I understand if you can't afford the game, but if you preorder it at gamestop you get the first DLC stuff for free!

Actually, I think the main issue (in addition to what are surely Beatlesy contractual issues) is the whole, "programmed to let three people sing" vs. "not programmed to have three people sing" thing.

It probably cost them a fortune to license all those Beatles songs, so if they put all those songs on the disc they'd have to raise the price past what many would be willing to pay.

I only wish a game that I was interested in, like GH Metallica, had this kind of DLC support. But alas, Activision HAD to make that one :(

It did a lot better than you think. Metallica's way more popular today worldwide than the Beatles are.

Yeah and so is Metallica. Lot of people dont' realize that because they're heavy metal and most wouldn't even think that a heavy metal band is near the top of any music list.

In no world is Metallica more popular than the Beatles. Not only are there legions of older fans, but also younger fans like myself who are devout Beatles fans. That would explain why Paul McCartney is able to consistently fill stadiums on his own, even without the rest of the Beatles. There is probably no bigger band than the Beatles, and I don't think that is going to change for a long, long time, if ever.

Metallica has sold an estimated 100 million albums. The Beatles have sold over 1 billion albums. There are about 30+ acts between them. Yeah, 100 million records is a lot, but The Beatles are on a whole nother level than Metallica.

Were the song lists given by Harmonix or did you just put the songs that are on the albums? Because i'm positive that some of those songs are already on the disc setlist.

Anyway I'm a sucker for the Beattles and i'm gonna be buying them. And the BONUS for the Abbey Road road full album is incredible!

For those about to yell "What the hell?!? Some of those songs were supposed to be in the game! I'm gonna have to pay double?!", Harmonix has clarified that the tracklists are purely to show which songs are on what albums. The songs on Abbey Road and the other 2 NOT in-game will be up for dlc. You won't be buying songs twice.

Absolutely not a fan. I'd rather not have to play Polythene Pam in order to play You Never Give Me Your Money and You're Gonna Carry That Weight. Or can we play them individually OR as a B-side medley?

That is the only way to do it!

and person above me, it says you have the option to, so I assume you can do it separately. But screwing with that epic medley? That's a crime.

Bakkster - It says right in the article that you have the OPTION of playing the medley as one big song.

Though I don't see why you'd play it any other way.

Although, if you're playing on 360, it's gonna cost ya.
